On the afternoon of July 7, the Central Sector Trade Union emulation bloc organized a conference to summarize the work in the first 6 months of 2026 and deploy the work program for the last 6 months of the year. Attending the Conference were Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) and representatives of units in the Central Sector Trade Union emulation bloc.
Reporting on the results of the first 6 months of 2026, Mr. Pham Quang Huong - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union - Head of the Central Industry Trade Union emulation bloc said that the Central Industry Trade Union emulation bloc has 9 industry trade unions, operating in many fields such as science and technology, health, education, police, defense, banking, construction, industry and trade and agriculture.
Regarding activities to celebrate the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, units in the Bloc actively responded to emulation movements launched by the VGCL, promoted the movement "Good labor, creative labor"; deployed many activities to care for union members and workers associated with Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Hygiene.
Industry Trade Unions in the Bloc simultaneously deployed care activities through the "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" Program and the "Online Trade Union Tet Market" during the 2026 Lunar New Year..., resulting in tens of thousands of union members and workers in difficult circumstances being visited and supported with a total budget of up to hundreds of billions of VND from the entire Bloc.
Regarding the work of developing union members and building trade union organizations, in the first 6 months of 2026, the entire Bloc admitted more than 13,000 new trade union members; introduced and admitted 3,423 new Party members.
The emulation block has seen many models and creative ways of doing things such as the "Trade Union adopted children" model of the People's Police Trade Union taking care of and supporting 417 children of cadres, soldiers and children in particularly difficult circumstances; the "Each engineer one topic, each trade union group one initiative" model of the National Defense Trade Union Committee...
At the Conference, central industry trade unions in the Bloc identified focusing on implementing 10 key tasks in the last 6 months of 2026: Continuing to thoroughly grasp, propagate and effectively implement the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress; focusing on implementing patriotic emulation movements and thematic emulation movements launched by the VGCL;
Innovate the content and methods of trade union activities, promote the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence; proactively grasp the ideological situation, thoughts, and aspirations of union members and workers; well perform the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; effectively implement activities on occupational safety and hygiene; promote propaganda, political and ideological education, traditional education, and improve political bravery, sense of responsibility, professional ethics, and industrial style for union members and workers;
Strengthen coordination, exchange of experiences, replicate effective models between units in the Bloc; effectively organize the implementation of targets and tasks for 2026; prepare good conditions to organize activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Dinh Mui Lunar New Year 2027.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union shared the outstanding results in the implementation of Workers' Month and Action Month on OSH in 2026.
Accordingly, the entire industry successfully organized 231 dialogues, promptly receiving and resolving 1,885 recommendations from workers at the grassroots level. Caring work continues to be a bright spot when the Vietnam Construction Trade Union directly presented gifts to 26 collectives and 3,167 union members and workers with a total budget of over 1.6 billion VND...
