Affirming outstanding benefits when employees join the Trade Union
At this time, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation is focusing on preparing to organize the City Trade Union Congress - a special political event for workers in the city. In particular, increasing negotiation and signing labor agreements will also be one of the key targets and tasks.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation - said that in the new term, protecting the rights of workers must be given top priority. Trade unions need to strengthen dialogue and negotiation with employers, make efforts to sign Collective Labor Agreements with provisions on wages, bonuses, and benefits higher than those prescribed by law to clearly affirm the outstanding benefits when employees join the Trade Union. At the same time, welfare and health care policies must be widely implemented such as organizing annual health check-ups for employees, supporting the purchase of supplementary health insurance, building "Union Shelter" for union members in difficult circumstances... the goal is to ensure that all union members and employees are accompanied and supported by the Union organization in a timely manner when necessary.
According to Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Iko Thompson Vietnam Co., Ltd. Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh, the unit determined to improve the quality of dialogue and negotiation - especially negotiation of Collective Labor Agreements with salary, bonus, and benefits provisions higher than the law - as one of the three breakthroughs for the 2025-2030 term.
Immediately after the congress, in November, the union conducted the largest survey of union members' opinions ever to improve the operating regulations, financial regulations and improve the quality of movement and spiritual life. The unit also analyzed policies and compared benefits with enterprises in the same industry to propose adding 2-3 more beneficial provisions for employees on wages, bonuses, benefits, etc.
