HCMC - In the first 6 months of 2025, the number of people applying for unemployment benefits decreased by 12.13% compared to the same period in 2024.

On July 7, Ms. Nguyen Van Hanh Thuc - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center - said that in the first 6 months of 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center has coordinated with vocational training institutions to provide vocational training support for workers receiving unemployment benefits and submitted a decision to support vocational training for workers receiving unemployment benefits 1,049 times.

Also in the first 6 months of 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center received 66,192 cases of application for unemployment benefits. Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of people applying for unemployment benefits decreased by 9,135 (equivalent to a decrease of 12.13%).

The Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center has submitted to the Department of Home Affairs to sign and issue 59,922 decisions on unemployment benefits for employees.

Thus, the ratio of people receiving vocational training support during the unemployment allowance period compared to the number of people registering for unemployment accounts for only 1.58%.
