On June 12, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Federation of Labor said that the unit is implementing a Project to reorganize and streamline the union organization and apparatus in the area.
Currently, the Provincial Federation of Labor is managing 10 trade unions at the grassroots level, including 7 district and city trade unions; Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union; Provincial Party agencies Trade Union and Provincial People's Committee Trade Union. In total, there are 31 positions, 16 labor contracts (LTC) of grassroots trade unions; and 1,590 grassroots trade unions - trade unions (CDCS-ND) with 154,367 union members (out of a total of 161,137 workers).
The Provincial Federation of Labor has requested the grassroots trade unions to issue a decision to terminate the activities of grassroots trade unions of administrative agencies and public service units receiving 100% of State budget salaries, and to complete the settlement of accounting records. For grassroots unions not subject to dissolution, close accounting books and carry out procedures to hand over to the Provincial Federation of Labor for management... before June 15. Therefore, 628 grassroots trade unions (with 27,354 union members/27,609 workers) which are administrative agencies and public service units receiving 100% of State budget salaries will cease operations.
At the same time, in the coming time, the activities of 10 trade unions at the grassroots level will be terminated from July 1. And the Provincial Federation of Labor will receive a total of 962 grassroots unions with a total of 127,013 union members (out of a total of 133,528 workers).
Officials and civil servants who wish to apply for early retirement or leave when the unit finishes work will be considered and resolved in accordance with regulations. In other cases, the Provincial Federation of Labor will discuss and agree to arrange work depending on personal wishes and the decision-making authority of the Party Committee. In particular, the labor contracts will be completely terminated and policies will be implemented according to regulations.
Regarding finance and union assets, the instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on financial management of union assets after the unit merges or ceases operations shall apply.
