Directly buying goods to help union members
This year, the grassroots Trade Union (CDCS) of Sungwooo Vina Co., Ltd. (Bac Ninh province) was allocated 20 shopping vouchers on the online Trade Union Tet Market.
In 2 days (January 7-8), company trade union officials directly supported union members to buy goods in the most convenient and fastest way. Trade union officials invited workers to the office so they could directly choose goods, and operated on computers supported by trade union officials. "Many workers do not understand how to operate online to place orders, and may encounter many difficulties if operating on phone screens, so the trade union decided to do the above to create the most favorable conditions for workers in the process of purchasing goods," Mr. Ha said.
According to the Chairman of this grassroots trade union, the items favored by many workers to order are household appliances (rice cookers, steamer pots...). By the morning of January 8, the grassroots trade union had completed supporting purchases for workers. The delivery location is at the company.
Ms. Le Kim Ngoc is the official who directly buys goods, and also the person who directly supports workers to buy goods. Ms. Ngoc said that the online operations are all done by her to help workers, workers only need to provide an OTP code to confirm the purchase. “I am very happy to be able to support company union members to choose satisfactory and meaningful items for Tet,” Ms. Ngoc shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Head of the production line, said that she had successfully chosen to buy an electric rice cooker. She is very happy because the pot has a large capacity (1.8 liters), helping her family cook delicious meals. “I am very grateful to the Trade Union organization for giving gifts and company trade union officials for directly supporting the purchase in a quick and convenient way,” Ms. Hien shared. According to her, if she operates the purchase herself, she will be very worried, afraid of mistakes or encounter many other obstacles.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien's family is in quite difficult circumstances. Her husband is often sick and has to receive long-term treatment at the hospital. All family expenses depend on her total income of about 8 million VND/month. “I am looking forward to receiving this gift. After receiving the gift, I will immediately cook a delicious meal for the whole family,” Ms. Hien shared.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha - Chairman of the Trade Union of Sungwoo Vina Co., Ltd. - said that purchasing goods at the Trade Union Tet Market in 2026 compared to 2025 is more convenient and faster.
This is a very meaningful program for workers. I hope that in the next times more vouchers will be allocated so that more workers can buy goods for free on the Online Trade Union Tet Market," Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha shared.
There have been more than 40,000 purchases
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau is a trade union official of the Hanoi City Labor Federation - the person who directly guides grassroots trade unions to deploy purchases.
The Hanoi City Labor Federation was allocated vouchers by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to 9,000 union members and 300 guide officials. “The Hanoi City Labor Federation has allocated all vouchers to commune and ward trade unions, then commune and ward trade unions statistically count the number of union members sent to the City Labor Federation,” Ms. Chau said.
According to Ms. Chau, on January 5th, guiding officers were able to buy goods, and up to now they have bought almost all of them. Ms. Chau herself bought goods on January 5th, and by January 8th, she had received the goods. By January 7th, she had deployed purchases for union members to receive vouchers; all cases had been successfully operated. “Information feedback to the Hanoi City Labor Federation is very positive. The purchase of goods takes place very quickly, easily, and operation is more convenient than last year,” Ms. Chau said.
Ms. Chau informed that, through grasping, the items ordered by many union members are household appliances such as rice cookers, pans... or detergent, laundry detergent, fabric rinse water...
Talking to reporters, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha - Member of the Presidium, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour - said that as of January 7, the number of visits on the Tet market website was more than 515,000; currently nearly 40,000 vouchers have been sold (out of a total of 200,000 vouchers).

From the beginning of October 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour has issued a plan on Tet care 2026 with many contents to prepare resources for Tet care for union members and workers, including a plan to organize an online Tet market to sell discounted goods to union members and workers in difficult circumstances as well as those with outstanding achievements in labor production and trade union activities.
According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the total number of union members supported and allocated through the online Trade Union Tet - Spring 2026 Market program is 200,000 people. Sales time: From 9:00 AM on January 5, 2026 to 12:00 AM on March 4, 2026; temporary sales break during the Lunar New Year holiday of Binh Ngo 2026 (from 0:00 AM on February 11, 2026 to 12:00 AM on February 22, 2026).
