Mr. Le Minh Nhan - Chairman of the Hue City Labor Federation, head of the emulation cluster and Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation, deputy head of the emulation cluster chaired the conference.
According to the report, in the first 6 months of 2025, the total number of union members in the 6 provinces and cities of the North Central region was 843,246 people, an increase of 33,858 people compared to the end of 2024; the total number of grassroots unions was 11,627. The average income of employees in enterprises is about 6.5 million VND/person/month.
The work of caring for union members and workers in the first 6 months of the year has achieved many positive results. Trade unions at all levels in the Cluster have supported 841,771 union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total cost of more than 325 billion VND. In particular, this year's "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng" program is organized by units from the provincial to grassroots levels with many practical activities, with the motto "All union members and workers have Tet".
With the theme "Vietnamese workers pioneering in entering a new era", Workers' Month associated with the Labor Safety and Hygiene Action Month in 2025 has been actively implemented by trade unions at all levels in 6 provinces and cities in the North Central region with many exciting and meaningful activities.
Regarding the development of union members, the entire Cluster has established 90 grassroots unions and developed 26,573 union members. Typically, Thanh Hoa province established 46 grassroots unions (42 grassroots unions and 4 unions), developing an additional 22,346 union members; Nghe An established 9 grassroots unions, admitting 10,853 union members.
In addition to the achieved results, the conference also frankly acknowledged some shortcomings and limitations such as: the grasp of ideological and aspirational developments of union members and workers at times and in some places is still not good; the work of propagating and developing union members and establishing grassroots unions still faces many difficulties, the number of newly developed union members is not high.
At the conference, delegates discussed and made recommendations related to the arrangement of the apparatus, the dissolution of industry unions and district-level labor federations.
At the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung answered and answered the questions of concern to delegates. At the same time, it is recommended that the Labor Federations of the North Central provinces and cities will focus on key tasks: Continue to reorganize and streamline the trade union apparatus at all levels; promote propaganda and mobilization to develop union members, introduce and foster outstanding union members for the Party; focus on caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of union members and workers and effectively organize the 2026 Tet Sum Vay Program.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Le Minh Nhan - Chairman of the Hue City Labor Federation assessed this as an important preliminary review, bearing a historical mark when the trade union organization is carrying out a streamlined revolution. At the same time, he acknowledged the contributions and efforts of the cluster union cadres in the past time. The Chairman of the Hue City Labor Federation believes that in the coming time, the union cadres will promote good traditions, fulfill their tasks and roles in the coming time, and continue to maintain the position of the union organization.
