Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao said that in the first quarter of 2026, under the leadership and direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Party committees and leaders of police at all levels in the People's Public Security Forces, and all levels of People's Public Security Trade Unions, they have proactively implemented according to the work program plan set out. At the Conference, the People's Public Security Trade Union Board will continue to set out orientations for some key tasks in the second quarter of 2026.
Reporting on the work in the first quarter of 2026 of the People's Public Security Trade Union, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hien - Deputy Head of the People's Public Security Trade Union said that currently, the People's Public Security Trade Union directly manages and directs 87 grassroots trade unions, 7 provincial and city police trade unions, corporations and 24,970 union members.
Over the past time, the People's Police Trade Union continued to implement three breakthroughs; completed 1/3 of the propaganda and education tasks; completed 3/3 of the tasks of caring for life and protecting the rights of workers; maintained the implementation of 4 tasks of developing union members and building trade union organizations.
Regarding the work of caring for union members, the People's Public Security Trade Union maintains activities and programs such as "For the benefit of union members", "Trade Union adopted children"... bringing benefits to union members, especially union members in difficult circumstances.
Activities to care for Tet for union members and workers in the People's Public Security Forces and social security activities on the occasion of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 have been effectively implemented by trade union levels in the People's Public Security Forces. Accordingly, nearly 25,000 union members and workers in the People's Public Security Forces; more than 1,000 policy families, people with meritorious services, and families in difficult circumstances have been cared for by the trade union organization with a total budget of more than 83 billion VND.
100% of union members and workers received full salaries and Tet bonuses, the lowest bonus level is 3 million VND, the highest is more than 30 million VND (enterprises).
Regarding the work of developing union members and building trade union organizations, the People's Police Trade Union has well implemented patriotic emulation movements, trade union levels in the People's Police pay attention to fostering and introducing outstanding union members, and implementing many solutions to promote the work of developing party members among union members. In the first quarter of 2026, trade union levels in the People's Police admitted 121 new union members.
