According to Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang - Deputy Head of the Department of Legal Policy and Labor Relations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, activities to care for the Lunar New Year 2025 will continue to be organized at 4 levels of trade unions, focusing on the grassroots.
Priority care is given to union members and workers (DV, NLD) who are in special difficult circumstances, have had work accidents, occupational diseases, are victims of poverty risks, natural disasters, floods; union members and NLD who are underemployed or unemployed; union members and NLD who are policy beneficiaries, ethnic minorities or have not had the opportunity to return home to reunite with their families for many years during the Lunar New Year; EU, NLD who do not return home for Tet to work and produce.
In particular, activities to support vehicles, train tickets, cars, and airplanes to help union members and employees return home for Tet have been effectively implemented. During the 2025 Lunar New Year, trade unions at all levels organized trips of cars, trains, and flights to bring over 280,295 union members, workers, and relatives back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet, with an amount of over 222 billion VND.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has organized the program "Union Flight - Spring 2025" with 2 flights, with a total amount of nearly 1.6 billion VND, bringing 450 union members, employees and relatives working in the southern provinces and cities back to their hometowns in the northern provinces and cities to celebrate Tet. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also organizes the program "Union Train - Spring 2025" to pick up and drop off 1750 union members, employees and relatives (recallback tickets) working in the southern provinces and cities to return to their hometowns in the northern provinces and cities to celebrate Tet and return to work after Tet, with a total amount of over 8 billion VND.
"Through vehicle support activities, many units and employees have returned to work at a convenient, safe and punctual location right after the Tet holiday ends. As of the morning of February 6, 2025 (ie January 9), more than 92% of workers have returned to work. Some units have a high rate such as Thai Nguyen 95%; Bac Giang 98%; Hanoi 95%; Thai Binh 99%; Thanh Hoa 98%... Transportation, train, car and plane support activities have truly become meaningful and practical activities, supporting employees and workers to return to their hometowns, return to their workplaces quickly, safely and quickly and contribute to businesses stabilizing the labor force after Tet" - Mr. Nguyen Vinh Quang said.
During the 2025 Lunar New Year, the situation of stable labor relations, disputes and collective housing suspension decreased compared to previous years. According to reports from localities and units, during the 2025 Lunar New Year, nearly 11.35 million union members, employees and relatives have benefited from the care activities of the Trade Union organization (an increase of 9.25% compared to 2024, with a total budget of over VND 7,812 billion (an increase of 9% compared to 2024). Of which, the trade union financial source is VND 3,857 billion; the socialized source is VND 3,955 billion (accounting for more than 50% of the total amount of care).
Mr. Phan Van Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that the opinions of delegates on the results of Tet care, shortcomings and limitations in the implementation process, resources for care, recommendations... will be accepted to complete the report, thereby advising and proposing to the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to have better care plans for members and employees in the coming Tet holiday.
