This is a forum for grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) in the bloc to exchange experiences, share good models, and effective ways of promoting the role of trade union organizations in scientific research, innovation and digital transformation tasks at higher education institutions.
Mr. Ngo Van Thien - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Kien Giang University, Head of Emulation Block No. 4 in 2026 - emphasized that the conference is not only an opportunity to summarize and evaluate the results of trade union activities in the first 6 months of the year, but also a forum for units in the Block to strengthen exchanges, share experiences, and propose solutions to improve the quality of trade union activities.
The selection of the topic of the seminar on the role of trade union organizations in scientific research, innovation and digital transformation stems from the practical requirements of higher education institutions in the context of implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, contributing to promoting the accompanying role of trade union organizations and schools in performing political tasks and promoting innovation and creativity.

Many opinions believe that, in the context of higher education facing the requirement of strong innovation, trade union organizations performing the function of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers, need to actively participate in the process of building a dynamic, creative, and humane academic environment.
Trade unions need to become a bridge, encouraging teachers, civil servants, and workers to boldly innovate working methods, apply technology, contribute initiatives and participate in scientific research tasks associated with practice.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc An acknowledged the proactiveness and responsibility of Emulation Block No. 4 in selecting topics that are practically meaningful and suitable for the development requirements of higher education today. He requested grassroots trade unions to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; promote the role of accompanying expertise; pay attention to creating conditions for union members, civil servants, and workers to promote their capacity, initiative, and creative spirit in performing tasks.
Within the framework of the conference, Emulation Block No. 4 performed the ceremony of awarding the Rotating Flag of Block Leader from the Grassroots Trade Union of Kien Giang University to the Trade Union of Northwest University, the unit taking on the role of Block Leader next year.
On this occasion, delegates also participated in sports exchange activities, Gala arts performances and return to the origin at the Phu Quoc Prison Historical Relic, Command of Naval Region 5, contributing to strengthening exchanges and solidarity between units in the Bloc.
