With the goal of thoroughly grasping the content of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthrough development of science, technology, creative innovation and national digital transformation, in the past time, Can Tho City has been building and developing an innovation and creative startup ecosystem, playing a leading role in the Mekong Delta region in accordance with local practices.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Can Tho City has officially announced the establishment of the Advisory Council for the innovation and creative startup ecosystem and the criteria for recognizing the Center for Innovation and the center for supporting creative startups.
The viewpoint is to connect resources between the State - Scientists - Businesses, contributing to improving productivity, quality, competitiveness of businesses and socio-economic development.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - informed that the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW in Can Tho always sets a goal of both being associated with stable operation after mergers and creating new development momentum based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
Can Tho identifies the focus as forming products, models, platforms and major problems that directly impact growth, labor productivity, management efficiency and service quality for people and businesses" - Mr. Khoi said.
Providing information about the model of the Can Tho City Innovation Center, Mr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City - said that the model is shaped and developed with 4 core pillars. Those are the model according to the coordinating pillar, the model according to the public-private partnership pillar, the model according to the Deep-Tech pillar and the model according to the commercialization pillar.
In which, the Startup and Innovation Complex (CASIC Complex Hub) has 12 functional sub-zones and 10 labs arranged centrally into 3 clusters including R&D clusters of universities, along with specialized scientific application research centers; innovation cluster for businesses, institutes, schools; community connection space, exhibitions and startup support services, common working space.

Resource investment
Recently, the People's Committee of Can Tho City also has a plan to build and develop a digital database on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in Can Tho city in the period 2026 - 2030.
Including the formation and development of 03 digital knowledge spaces providing information services on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation of the city, aiming to become a data, knowledge and innovation connection center of the Mekong Delta region.

In a series of key contents, Can Tho City focuses on applying big data technology and artificial intelligence in science and technology knowledge management.
Basically, innovation is associated with promoting the application of digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), big data (Big Data), cloud computing (Cloud Computing) and advanced technologies in managing, analyzing, exploiting and operating the science, technology and innovation database platform of the City.

The total estimated budget for the period 2026 - 2030 is 30 billion VND, from the state budget for investment in science and technology development, science and technology career expenses and funds mobilized from other legal sources as prescribed.
