In the 2023 - 2025 period, VDB Trade Union under the leadership of Party committees at all levels, the direction and guidance of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union, the Hanoi City Labor Federation, and the timely and close coordination of the VDB Leadership Board have truly become a spiritual fulcrum, a bridge to maintain unity and unity, contributing significantly to the stability and development of the VDB system and have achieved the following encouraging and outstanding results:
First: Political-ideological education - Creating a foundation for the strength of the Trade Union and a driving force to contribute to stabilizing and developing the system
In the 2023-2025 period, VDB Trade Union has made positive contributions to the implementation of assigned political tasks, focusing on the task of restructuring and orienting VDB activities after 2027 according to Decision No. 90/QD-TTg dated October 28, 2023 of the Prime Minister approving the "Reorganization plan, orienting VDB activities for the 2023-2027 period".
The union members have made consistent efforts and strived to complete the assigned tasks. Immediately after the Government's Decree No. 78/2023/ND-CP on State investment credit (TDDT) was issued, the entire system focused on efforts to implement. To date, VDB has approved lending and signed credit contracts for more than 50 projects with a total lending capital of nearly VND24,000 billion.
The work of collecting principal and interest debts exceeded the plan, the amount of bad debts decreased sharply; the annual financial revenue and expenditure gap reached and exceeded the assigned target (in 2023 it reached 103% of the plan, in 2024 it reached 111% of the plan), it is expected that by the end of 2027, VDB will fully compensate for accumulated losses.
The above results contribute significantly to creating strong confidence and motivation to maintain stability, maintain solidarity, and gradually improve working conditions, environment, and income for workers. Thereby, it also affirms the role of VDB Trade Union along with the development process of the system.
Two is: Caring for the lives and protecting the rights of union members - a key task throughout
The work of caring for union members' lives has always been focused on by VDB trade unions at all levels and has promoted its role as a " supported" of workers at the unit. In the past term, VDB Trade Union has promptly supported and encouraged union members and their relatives when they encountered illnesses, serious illnesses, accidents, and natural disasters; Supported care during the Lunar New Year for union members in difficult circumstances, with parents over 85 years old.
Three is: Emulation movement - Driving force to build a team of brave and responsible union members
VDB trade unions at all levels have proactively launched and actively led the response to emulation movements launched by VDB, while integrating movements launched by the Prime Minister and higher-level trade unions. These movements contribute to building a team of VDB staff and workers who are brave, intelligent, and responsible in completing tasks well in each job position, while creating a healthy, united, and creative environment in the entire industry.
Four is: Volunteer activities - Social security imprint of VDB Trade Union
Although the income of VDB workers is still modest, the spirit of mutual love and sharing difficulties is always maintained, strongly spreading throughout the system, demonstrating the deep social responsibility of the Trade Union organization and the team of VDB staff and union members. In the 2020-2025 period, VDB has spent more than 15 billion VND on these activities.
Fifth: Building a strong Trade Union organization - Key task of VDB Trade Union
VDB Trade Union identified building a strong Trade Union organization as a key task throughout the term. 100% of workers in the system participate in the Trade Union organization. In the 2023-2025 period, 100% of grassroots trade unions are classified as having completed their tasks well or better; more than 80 excellent union members are introduced to the Party for consideration and admission to the Party.
Many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements have been awarded by the higher-level trade union, in which for 2 consecutive years (2023 - 2024), the VDB Trade Union received the Emulation Flag of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union.
Entering a new development stage, term 2025-2030, with the functions and roles of the Trade Union organization, VDB Trade Union identifies 6 key tasks accompanying the system as follows:
First: Improve political courage, professional qualifications, and professional skills for union members. In which 100% of cadres and union members are disseminated and promptly thoroughly understood the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, resolutions, regulations and rules of VDB...
Second: Innovation in content and methods of operation, enhancing the application of information technology, digitalizing union management, finance and emulation - reward; Strengthening dialogue, direct contact, listening and promptly resolving problems arising in labor relations...
Third: More care about the material and spiritual life of workers, proactively propose improving income, ensuring social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance regimes; prioritize supporting workers in restructuring units, remote areas, and large work pressure.
Fourth: Organize emulation movements closely linked to the implementation of political tasks, focusing on improving the quality of professional activities, reforming procedures, modernizing technology; Focus on discovering, fostering, and replicating advanced models, examples of "good people, good deeds" in the entire system...
Fifth: Further strengthen the role of trade unions in Party building and VDB culture, well implement the movement of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.
Sixth: Expanding social activities, enhancing community responsibility, developing sustainable support models associated with social security programs, education - health in disadvantaged areas.
With a tradition of solidarity, discipline, innovation and creativity; VDB Trade Union will continue to promote its role, accompanying the system for the common goal: "stability and sustainable development in the new era".
Along with the implementation of the Party and State's policy on arranging administrative boundary organizations, the VDB Trade Union is also reorganized in conjunction with the system's operating network model. Currently, VDB has 32 affiliated grassroots unions with nearly 3,200 union members and workers.
