Reproductive health check-up, free cancer screening for 10,000 employees
After 32 years of working, in May 2025, for the first time, Ms. Dang Thi Thanh - working at Dong Truc Kindergarten - received a free health check-up. That is a health examination organized by the Hanoi City Labor Federation in coordination with Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital for reproductive health examination - consultation communication; free early cancer screening, giving free medicine to 600 female workers in Thach That - Quoc Oai Industrial Park.
When the union organized a free health check-up, Ms. Thanh was very happy because the check-up package was full of the contents she needed.
In addition, there is dedicated and thoughtful guidance during the examination process. After the examination, Ms. Dang Thi Thanh said that she now knows exactly how her health is. Ms. Thanh hopes to have more health check-ups like this for workers in general and her colleagues - preschool teachers because they work in an environment where they rarely have enough time for a check-up...
To take care of the health of workers, the Hanoi City Labor Federation has developed and implemented a Plan "Free reproductive health check-ups and cancer screening for 10,000 workers" in 2025. In addition to obstetrics and gynecology examination, cancer screening, consultation, prescription and treatment instructions, employees are communicated knowledge about reproductive health care, premarital health, family planning, etc.
The examinations are jointly organized by the City Labor Federation, and the Capital Labor Union at all levels also organizes free examinations and consultations for union members and employees. This activity not only cares for union members and employees but is also a factor that motivates businesses to improve their responsibility for the health of employees - the assets of the business. The work of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights of union members and employees has always been focused on by the union.
In the 2025 Workers' Month alone, the City Labor Federation organized activities to visit, give gifts and give subsidies to 2,251 workers in difficult circumstances, workers who have had work-related accidents and occupational diseases, with a total amount of 2.3 billion VND; supported the construction and repair of 25 new Trade Union Shelters for union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances, workers who have had work-related accidents with a total support amount of 930 million VND.
Maintaining good performance of the representative function of the trade union
After focusing on streamlining the organizational apparatus at all levels of the City Trade Union in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the Central Party Executive Committee (term XII); implementing the arrangement of the City Labor Federation, grassroots trade unions, grassroots trade unions under the direction of the city, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Central Government, one of the tasks currently set by the Hanoi Trade Union is to maintain the good function of representing, caring for, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees, especially directing the good organization of dialogue, negotiation, signing of collective labor agreements, and implementing democratic regulations at the grassroots level.
In addition, continue to organize activities to care for union members and employees well; maintain activities to care for union members and employees in a practical and effective manner; visit and provide subsidies to employees in difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, etc.
The Union also organizes practical patriotic emulation movements to celebrate the anniversaries of the Capital and the country, welcome the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 13th National Party Congress. In particular, focusing on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; improving training and fostering union officials.
