Trade unions accompany union members and workers

On April 30, speaking with reporters, Mr. Le An Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade (VTC) said that in recent years, the emulation movement among workers and civil servants in the whole industry has been widely implemented by trade unions at all levels, attracting a large number of union members and workers to participate. Thereby contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development tasks of the industry.

The movements "Good workers, creative workers", "Promoting initiatives, improving techniques", "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh style", "Practice thrift", "Fighting waste and embezzlement", "Ensuring occupational safety and hygiene"; "Good at public work, good at housework" ... were jointly launched by the Industry and Trade Union in accordance with each condition of the unit and enterprise.

As a result, many collectives and individuals have had typical models, good initiatives, outstanding examples, hundreds of thousands of initiatives, technical improvements, inventions, creativities... The initiatives have been applied in practice with a total value of hundreds of billions of VND; many typical labor examples appearing from production labor have been recognized and rewarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

In particular, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has been active, proactive and creative in implementing tasks and solutions to effectively carry out tasks and has achieved important and positive results.

In particular, the employment of union members and employees in the industry is basically maintained, income is stable, working conditions and policies are guaranteed. The average income of workers in the enterprise sector is estimated at 8 million to over 11 million VND/person/month. Basically, there is no longer a situation of outstanding social insurance and health insurance debts.

The trade union system at all levels has always accompanied and supported union members and employees to overcome difficulties, creating trust among union members and employees. With a proactive, creative spirit, overcoming difficulties, trusting in the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the Industry and Trade Union has competed in labor and production to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

The "Union Shelter" program has supported 676 million VND to build 16 houses (50 million VND/house) and repair 3 houses (20 million VND/house) for union members and workers in difficulty at all levels of affiliated unions, and trade unions of the Industry and Trade sectors of provinces and cities.

Trade unions at all levels also coordinated to organize "Union Meals" for 44,877 members and employees in the unit's kitchens. The total amount spent on "Union Meals" in 2024 in the entire Industry and Trade sector is 4.5 billion VND.

Workers are excited because the union cares

On the occasion of Workers' Month 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized a health check-up for workers and laborers.

Accordingly, hundreds of employees at Lam Thao Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company (Phu Tho) have undergone clinical testing and general examination steps organized by the Vietnam Trade Union in coordination with medical units.

At the health examination, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Nga emotionally shared: As a worker at Lam Thao Suppe fosfat and Chemical Joint Stock Company, I feel very happy and excited because the company's leaders always pay close attention to the material and spiritual life of the workers. We feel very excited and hope that in the coming time, we will continue to receive more attention from leaders at all levels of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as well as the company's leaders.

According to Mr. Le An Hai, during Workers' Month 2025, trade unions at all levels will continue to widely promote the role and contribution of the Vietnamese working class in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.

The Trade Union coordinates to inspect and supervise the implementation of policies and regimes for employees of the unit. Promote activities of giving opinions, dialogues, legal consultation for workers, visiting and supporting workers in difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, or occupational diseases. Launch a peak emulation campaign during the "Workers' Month", organize practical activities to celebrate major holidays of the country and the trade union organization.

Organize cultural, artistic, sports activities, a joyful and exciting atmosphere among workers and civil servants. Strengthen the development of union members, establish grassroots unions...
