Difficulties in trade union work
Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan - President of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor - shared with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters: "Although there have been many efforts, there are still difficulties in trade union work. We will continue to make more efforts to ensure the legitimate rights of union members and workers.
Although many support policies have been introduced, some businesses and units in Quang Binh are not self-conscious in organizing conferences for cadres, civil servants, and public employees (CBCCVC) and conferences for workers. The debt of social insurance (SI) at some enterprises is prolonged with large sums of money, directly affecting the rights of union members and employees.
The work of propagating and disseminating the law has not been implemented synchronously, especially in non-state enterprises. The grasp of the thoughts and aspirations of workers in many units is still slow and ineffective. Some trade unions at the grassroots level have not yet achieved the target of mobilizing the establishment of grassroots trade unions and developing union members assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Lan said that the collection of 2% union funds at enterprises that have not yet established union organizations still faces many difficulties. The number of units paying funds through the intermediary account of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is still low. The application of information technology, deployment of document management and operation systems at some direct superior trade unions at the grassroots level is slow and not very effective.
Caring for the interests of union members and workers
In order to overcome the shortcomings, the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor has proposed key solutions such as strengthening supervision and inspection of the implementation of social insurance policies, wages, and benefits for employees. Deploy solutions to improve the effectiveness of dialogue and collective bargaining to ensure the rights of union members and employees.
Strengthen propaganda and mobilize businesses to establish grassroots trade unions. Closely connect grassroots unions and employees to promote operational efficiency. Support the construction of "Union Shelter" houses, organize the "Union Welfare" program, support job search and vocational training for employees.
The Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor said that he will strictly manage the collection and expenditure of union finances. Promote the collection of 2% union funds in the production and business sector through Vietnam Trade Union accounts opened at commercial banks. Promote digital transformation in trade union activities, improve document management and operation efficiency.
The Quang Binh Provincial Federation of Labor will focus resources to improve the material and spiritual life of union members and workers through practical activities such as organizing activities to support union members and workers during the Lunar New Year.
Implement the 2025 Trade Union Market program, in response to Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene. Support the construction and repair of "Union Shelter" houses for union members in difficult circumstances. Develop "Welfare for union members and employees" programs, negotiate and sign cooperation agreements with partners to benefit employees.
The Provincial Federation of Labor will regularly deploy inspection and supervision work, focusing on the management of trade union finances and implementing the targets of the resolutions of trade union congresses at all levels.
