Workers hope to soon disseminate the new law
According to the Dak Lak Provincial Federation of Labor, the whole province has 88,445 union members and workers. Of which, 82,153 people are union members, belonging to 1,850 grassroots unions.
Dak Lak is also the locality with the largest number of union members and workers in the Central Highlands region.
Mr. Le Anh Hung, Chairman of the Dak Lak Agriculture and Rural Development Trade Union, said that the 2024 Trade Union Law has supplemented and revised many contents to create a more fair and healthy working environment.
This helps trade unions better protect the rights of workers and promote the development of enterprises.
One of the important new points is more specific regulations on the rights and responsibilities of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate interests of union members and workers.
Trade unions also have the right to participate in giving opinions and social criticism on draft legal documents, planning and plans directly related to the rights of union members and workers.
Mr. Tran Trung Phong, an employee of Forest Protection Station No. 2 (Nam Ka Specialized Forest Management Board, Dak Lak) shared that the 2024 Social Insurance Law has amended and supplemented many regulations on participation and enjoyment of social insurance benefits.
In particular, the law emphasizes retirement, maternity, sickness, work accidents and unemployment regimes. Early dissemination of the law is very important for union members and workers.
"Many union members at the unit also look forward to having access to information, because this is a great advantage that helps workers feel secure at work and ensure welfare," Mr. Phong added.
Internal duty, must start immediately
Recently, at a working session with the Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Federation of Labor, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, requested that trade unions at all levels in the province soon disseminate the Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law 2024 to union members and workers in the area.
These two laws create an important legal corridor to help cadres and trade union organizations at all levels better perform their function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights of union members and workers.
Thereby, the trade union will continue to innovate organization and operation to meet the requirements of the new situation.
Mr. Le Van Thanh, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation, said that trade unions at all levels will immediately deploy the dissemination of the Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law 2024 to workers.
This is one of the important tasks and needs to be started immediately. Because union officials will help workers raise awareness of their rights and obligations.
"This is also an opportunity for union members and workers to better understand the policies they are entitled to. Thereby, contributing to the overall development of the agency and unit", Mr. Thanh added.
