This information was stated by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Vietnam Science and Technology Union (KHCNVN) Pham Duc Long at the conference summarizing 15 years of implementing Resolution 68/NQ-BCH, Directive No. 03/CT-TLĐ; preliminary review of the emulation movement "Good at state affairs, good at household affairs" for the period 2020-2025, held on the morning of March 20, in Can Tho City.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Duc Long said that in the past 15 years, women in the S&T sector have been present in most fields. From research institutes, state management agencies, press agencies to technology businesses, everywhere there is the contribution of female officials and scientists.
Many women directly participate in research, create products, apply technology, and even take on management roles in organizations and businesses. "Simply put, women are not only working but are creating real values for the industry and for society. That is very commendable," Mr. Pham Duc Long emphasized.
According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Science and Technology Union, in the context of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation becoming the main drivers of growth, the requirements for human resources are also increasing. Therefore, it is not only necessary to create conditions for women to participate, but also to help women go further, take on more important positions and have a clearer voice in the system.
He hopes that in the future there will be more female scientists named in major research projects; more female leaders in S&T organizations, press agencies; and at the same time more female technology entrepreneurs boldly develop businesses...

According to Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long, Vietnam is entering a stage where S&T and innovation will play a decisive role in the country's position. If there is no full participation of women, national creative capacity will be reduced; conversely, if well promoted, this will be a very large resource.
In the context of working methods changing rapidly under the impact of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI), the role of the Science and Technology Trade Union needs to be promoted strongly, proactively and more substantively.
He proposed that the industry trade union proactively transform trade union activities digitally; bring support, consulting, connection and care activities for female workers into a digital environment, so that trade unions truly become a fast, close and effective companion channel.
In addition, it is necessary to organize vocational skills training and retraining programs in the context of AI, helping workers, especially women, know how to use digital tools, exploit AI in work and improve labor productivity.
Trade unions are not just organizations that care for life but need to become a solid support, a practical support channel to help female workers adapt and develop in the digital and AI era," Mr. Pham Duc Long emphasized.
According to him, with what has been shown in the past time and the concern and creation of better conditions in the coming time, the team of women in the S&T industry will continue to develop strongly, not only contributing but also taking on more important roles in the development of the industry.
