lifelong learning becomes an inevitable requirement
On the morning of September 22, the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central organizations held the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term.
Attending were 346 delegates representing the intelligence of more than 5,000 party members in the Party Committee.
At the Congress, Mr. Le Manh Hung - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Education presented a speech with the theme: Some solutions to promote the lifelong learning movement among the people to meet the requirements of the new era.
According to Mr. Le Manh Hung, the Vietnamese people have gone through thousands of years of history of building and defending the country, forming a long-standing culture with many good traditional values. One of the good traditions is the studiousness, the concern for learning of each family, clan and each people.
Learning not only helps each individual improve knowledge and personality, but also contributes to creating cultural values, endogenous strength, building an intellectual and civilized nation in the development process of each country.
In today's era, the world is witnessing the rapid development of science - technology, the explosion of information, digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI); the period of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the knowledge economy, the digital economy; the period of global integration; social reality is changing rapidly, containing many unpredictable fluctuations.
This requires each individual, community and country to adapt flexibly with knowledge and science.
Therefore, the knowledge of each person studying in school, the accumulated and experienced experience in life cannot meet the requirements of a changing life and rapid development.
Therefore, an urgent requirement for each person and the whole society is to self-study, study daily, continuously to access new knowledge, improve understanding, improve yourself, towards a happy and civilized life.
Therefore, self-study, regular study, lifelong learning becomes necessary, a trend, an inevitable requirement if people want to live and work, affirm their own value, build a meaningful life and a spirit of effective dedication to society.
Some solutions for lifelong learning in the new era
To strongly promote lifelong learning, build a learning society with practical results, contributing greatly to the rapid and sustainable development of the country, the Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Education said that it is necessary to implement a number of the following solutions well:
First, innovate and strengthen the leadership of the Party Central Committee, Party committees and Party organizations at all levels; enhance the role and responsibility of heads of Party committees, Party organizations, authorities at all levels, leaders of agencies and units; promote the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and Party members in lifelong learning and building a learning society.
Second, the National Assembly, the Government, and authorities at all levels should review, develop and perfect legal documents, issue policies, programs, decisions, encourage the promotion of lifelong learning, and build a learning society.
Third, focus on promoting information and propaganda work. In particular, it is recommended that central and local press and media agencies and specialized magazines all have columns on education and training, lifelong learning, building a learning society. Maintain and improve the quality of the TV show "Promoting learning - Knowledge journey" on VTV1 Vietnam Television.
Fourth, focus on directing and improving the quality of learning models according to Decision No. 387/QD-TTg, dated March 25, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the Program "Promoting the lifelong learning movement in families, clans, communities, and units for the period 2021 - 2030", Decision No. 677/QD-TTg, dated June 3, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the Program "Building a citizen learning model for the period 2021 - 2030".
Fifth, focus on strengthening the quality of associations at the administrative level, in residential areas, developing associations in schools, armed forces, directing the development of associations in enterprises, private economic units to contribute to the implementation of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW, dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo on private economic development, meeting the role of the most important driving force for economic development. Strive for encouragement of learning wherever there are people.
Sixth, investing State funds and resources in promoting learning, talent promotion, and building a learning society. Develop a variety of types of funds to support learning, talent promotion, and build a learning society.
Seventh, further promote digital transformation in the work of promoting learning, promoting talents, building a learning society, forming social learning data, lifelong learning and learning content data at community learning centers in residential areas, communes and wards across the country with diverse and rich content and knowledge, gradually meeting the learning needs of people with the motto: "What you need to learn", learning to have knowledge, have a better life.
Eighth, strengthen international cooperation to absorb the intellectual knowledge, experience in education and training, build a learning and lifelong learning society in developed countries, proactively participate in the UNESCO global learning city network, green learning and education community.
