Many workers in Binh Duong still face difficulties.
In 2024, in Binh Duong, the socio-economic situation will basically change more positively. Industrial production continues to grow, businesses have more orders, and workers have more jobs. However, some businesses continue to face difficulties in accessing markets and orders; some businesses have to temporarily stop production and dissolve, which negatively affects the lives of workers.
Mr. Pham Van Tuyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province - said that in the first 9 months of the year, 66,553 workers in the province submitted applications for unemployment insurance, of which 53,629 people were granted unemployment insurance benefits.
Despite receiving unemployment insurance, most workers in Binh Duong live in rented houses, making life very difficult. Notably, about 13,000 workers who are not eligible for unemployment insurance face even more difficulties.
In businesses where labor disputes occur, workers are owed wages, social insurance, health insurance... Employees lose their jobs without receiving insurance benefits as prescribed.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh (44 years old, from Bac Lieu, working at Hoang Sinh Wood Company, Phu Tan Ward) is one of the workers who have been owed wages and have been out of work for nearly 2 months now. According to Ms. Thanh, the company owes 3 months of wages, has long-standing social insurance debts, and has not paid health insurance.
“I and hundreds of other workers at this enterprise are facing extremely difficult circumstances. The company has been owing us salaries for a long time, we have no money to spend. Work has also been suspended, I have to work part-time to make ends meet. I dare not go to the doctor when I am sick because I do not have health insurance. My work has been affected but I cannot file for unemployment insurance. Tet is approaching, work and life are still not stable,” Ms. Thanh shared.
All union members and workers have Tet

The subjects of care during Tet are all union members and workers. Priority is given to union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, and those affected by natural disasters, storms and floods. At the same time, the union will also take care of workers whose working hours have been reduced, who have lost their jobs, or who have unpaid wages...
The Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor will launch the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" associated with detailed activities such as the opening of "Trade Union Tet Market 2025"; organize visits, give Tet gifts, and wish Tet to union members and workers, especially those who are still in difficulty, have low incomes, suffer from serious illnesses, have work accidents, are unemployed, and have unpaid wages.
