On July 25, the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor held a meeting with the Chairman of the Trade Union on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025) and announced the decision to establish the Commune and Ward Trade Union.
At the conference, the Provincial Federation of Labor announced the decision to establish 3 new Commune and Ward Trade Unions (under the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor).
Specifically, the Dien Bien Phu Ward Trade Union was established with 43 grassroots trade unions and 3,423 union members. Muong Thanh Ward Trade Union has 18 grassroots unions and 1,622 union members. Tuan Giao Commune Trade Union has 14 grassroots trade unions and 989 union members.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tan Minh Long - Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor said that the establishment of 3 new commune and ward unions is an important step in the roadmap to reorganize the union apparatus in the spirit of the policy of the Central, Provincial and General Confederation of Labor of Vietnam to build a strong and comprehensive union organization, closely linked with workers at all levels, all sectors and all localities.

Mr. Tan Minh Long also suggested that the Chairmen of the grassroots trade unions, especially the comrades assigned to be in charge of the newly established commune and ward trade unions, continue to promote their sense of responsibility and working capacity, and closely stick with union members and workers.
