Easy to find seasonal workers
At the beginning of the year, to prepare for a sudden increase in handicraft orders to Japan, Mr. Le Thanh Trung - the owner of a handicraft production facility in Ha Thai craft village, Duyen Thai commune (Thuong Tin district, Hanoi) urgently found 20 seasonal workers.
Through the old "werve" he had rented, in just 3 days, Mr. Trung gathered enough workers. Only about 1/3 of this group was proficient in the job because he had hired them before; the rest he held on to work extra for about 2 days.
"Because of the urgency, I cannot demand much, luckily this group of workers is quite young and bright, so I told them to quickly grasp the job," said Mr. Trung.

According to Mr. Trung, for many years he has hired seasonal workers dozens of times, especially when receiving urgent orders in large quantities from partners. The only difficulty, according to Mr. Trung, is to find a group of workers with people who have mastered the job. "Hiring bricklayers and construction workers is easier, hiring workers to help with the stages of handicrafts is much more difficult," said Mr. Trung.
Also regularly hiring seasonal workers, Mr. Chu The Son - director of a civil construction company in Nam Tu Liem district (Hanoi) said that to increase efficiency and quality, his company has also proactively hired a third party to quickly recruit and properly recruit when there is a need for seasonal workers.
"My company almost always hires seasonal workers to work wherever they accept the project, this helps save on personal expenses, and saves on travel and transportation costs... Of course, there are two sides to everything, hiring seasonal workers means determining to strengthen supervision, specify detailed work and require someone to manage the entire labor and production process to ensure labor safety and other requirements," said Mr. Chu The Son.
Risks
In fact, the use of seasonal workers helps businesses have flexibility in personnel, promptly meeting production and business needs at each time. seasonal workers also help temporarily replace some positions when there are sick employees, when they are out of work... so that businesses are not interrupted or affected.
In addition, hiring seasonal workers is also an economical solution because businesses do not have to pay fixed costs to maintain human resources.
However, hiring seasonal workers also has some risks.
Ms. Tran Phuong Hoa - owner of a high-end fruit and cake shop in Hai Ba Trung district (Hanoi) commented that because it is only temporary, the recruitment and use of seasonal workers that the tenants accept cannot be as wholehearted as workers with contracts. The seasonal labor group also needs time to be trained and guided to grasp the process/requirements of the job, so the employer must accept retraining.
"In particular, if you have to use modern, expensive machines or electronic equipment that requires skillful use, you should not let seasonal workers operate because if there are risks, damage occur, the tenant will suffer losses. What I am most concerned about is that traditional cake recipes or business secrets may be stolen. Simply put, information about relationships and business relationships is also easily leaked..., Ms. Phuong Hoa said.
