Attending the conference were Major General Pham Kim Dinh - Director of the Department of Political Work (Ministry of Public Security); Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao - Head of the Trade Union of the People's Police (CAND).
Currently, the People's Public Security Trade Union has 25,231 union members operating in 102 grassroots trade unions. Most union members are concentrated in the business sector (78.2%) and the non-business sector (21.8%).
The implementation of the 2026 trade union work program has been seriously and proactively implemented by trade union levels, closely following the set plans and targets, contributing practically to caring for the lives, protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers, and at the same time affirming the role of trade union organizations in the People's Public Security Forces.
Typically, activities to care for Tet for union members and workers in the People's Public Security Forces and social security activities on the occasion of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 have been seriously and effectively implemented by trade union levels in the People's Public Security Forces. Nearly 25,000 union members and workers in the People's Public Security Forces, more than 1,000 policy families, people with meritorious services, and families in difficult circumstances have been cared for by the trade union organization with a total budget of more than 83 billion VND.
During Workers' Month, trade union levels continue to propagate and implement cooperation agreement programs of the People's Public Security Trade Union with partners to union members and workers; and proactively seek and sign cooperation agreements to care for the welfare of union members and workers. From the welfare program, there have been over 24,900 turns of union members and workers participating and benefiting from the program.
Besides the achieved results, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao frankly pointed out the limitations: In some units, trade union activities have not kept up with the requirements in innovation work; the companionship with political tasks of agencies and businesses is not clear in some places.
The quality of some emulation movements is not uniform; the application of digital transformation in management and administration of trade union activities is still slow. The work of grasping the thoughts, aspirations, and representing and protecting the rights of workers in some places has not met the requirements in the new situation.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dang Hoang Anh - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of GTEL Corporation (Ministry of Public Security) - said that the GTEL Trade Union identifies the important task as accompanying each employee to have clearer goals, more effective working methods and more sustainable development opportunities. The GTEL Trade Union has coordinated with the leadership to apply the modern OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) management method, considering this as an innovative model to ignite the spirit of innovation and creativity, and promote the capacity of employees.
“From practical operations and awareness of how each union member and employee not only completes the assigned tasks but also maximizes their capacity, intelligence and dedication, GTEL Trade Union focuses on accompanying employees in three aspects: First, accompanying in changing perceptions; second, accompanying in the process of implementing goals; third, accompanying in spreading the value of innovation,” said Mr. Dang Hoang Anh.
Major General Pham Kim Dinh acknowledged and praised the positive results of the People's Public Security Trade Union achieved in the first 6 months of 2026, especially the work of caring for and accompanying workers.
Major General Pham Kim Dinh directed: "Emulation movements must be substantive, gathering into the goal of excellently completing professional tasks, through social security activities, supporting and helping union members and workers. At the same time, the Trade Union needs to launch labor and creative emulation movements to improve productivity, increase income and better care for the lives of workers...".
At the conference, a signing ceremony was held for the emulation commitment of the police union of units, localities, and corporations to implement the emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income"; the People's Public Security Trade Union signed a cooperation agreement for the 2026-2030 period with 2 partner units to implement welfare programs for union members; and presented gifts "gifts from the Vietnam Trade Union Congress" to union members in difficult circumstances suffering from serious illnesses.
Also at the program, 8 gifts of English reading books were presented to children of union members and workers working in industrial parks, remote areas, and in difficult circumstances.
