Mr. Le An Hai - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade (VTC) - said that the activities of caring for, ensuring welfare, and improving the lives of union members (DV, NLD) have been implemented synchronously and comprehensively.
Trade unions at all levels promote comprehensive and practical care activities for members and employees such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Union Shelter", "Thank You Workers", "Union Tet Market", " overtime Meal", "Union Year Meal"...
In the period of 2023 - 2025, many activities will be carried out to support union members, employees, and people in difficult circumstances who suffered damage due to storms and floods in 2024 and 2025 with a support amount of over VND 4.279 billion.
Implementing the instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on organizing Union Meals to all levels of trade unions, the result has been implemented by 100% of trade unions at all levels. This is an opportunity for employees, trade unions and business leaders to share and create an atmosphere of solidarity. As a result, the whole industry organized a Union Meal for 74,962 members and employees with a total amount of VND5.886 billion.
In addition to taking good care of union members and employees, every year, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor directs trade unions at all levels in the industry to actively implement patriotic emulation movements in a practical and effective manner, creating motivation to promote innovation, improve labor productivity and work efficiency; concretizing emulation movements, creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere, contributing significantly to promoting union members and employees to research and innovate, and having many initiatives and proposals to improve the effectiveness of union activities. In the period of 2023 - 2025, the whole industry has had nearly 450,000 initiatives, with a value of 55 billion VND; there are 150 typical works with signs celebrating major holidays of the country and the industry and unit.
Promoting dialogue and collective bargaining
Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Le An Hai said that in the period of 2025 - 2030, the industry trade union set the goal of: Innovation in content and methods of trade union activities to be flexible and suitable to reality; focusing on the work of representing, caring for, and protecting legitimate rights and interests, in a practical and effective direction; promoting the pioneering role, proactively innovating the team of cadres, civil servants, and public employees, contributing worthyly to the country's economic development, realizing the aspiration to make Vietnam a developing country with modern industry, high average income and successfully implementing the goals set by the Industry and Trade sector on modern industrial development, improving competitiveness, and being at the forefront of ASEAN; focusing on building and training a team of cadres of trade unions with outstanding political qualities, capacity, and in-enting qualities, meeting new requirements and tasks in the situation.
To achieve the above goal, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor focuses on breakthroughs such as focusing on performing the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, workers, and collective laborers at the grassroots level; promoting dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, and occupational safety and hygiene.

Develop the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor into a modern, internationally integrated and focused professional union organization in the non-state economic sector in the direction of increasing the admission of non-state trade union organizations into the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor currently manages and directs 14 trade unions at the grassroots level and 502 affiliated trade unions, with 140,176 union members/145,751 workers (reaching a rate of 96.1% of union members/total number of workers), of which 43,616 are female workers.
