Affirming the role of a social security pillar for people
Implementing the Peak Month of propaganda and mobilization to develop people participating in social insurance (BHXH), health insurance (BHYT), Da Nang City Social Insurance organized an online program to answer questions about policies on social insurance and health insurance on the City Social Insurance Electronic Information Portal with the theme "Social Insurance - Lifelong Social Security Support" on May 12. The program was implemented with the desire to provide information and promptly answer questions from people, workers and businesses; thereby contributing to raising awareness, consolidating trust and promoting sustainable participation in social insurance and health insurance.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Van Phu Quan - Deputy Director of Da Nang City Social Insurance said that in recent years, social insurance and health insurance policies have always been of particular concern to the Party and State, constantly being improved to expand coverage, enhance benefits and aim for the goal of ensuring universal social security. Organizing online answer-and-answer programs is one of practical activities to concretize propaganda work, helping people and businesses fully and accurately access the new regulations of the 2024 Social Insurance Law, the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Health Insurance Law and related documents. Through this, management agencies want to exchange directly and openly, helping to promptly answer problems arising in the process of participating and enjoying policies, and at the same time absorb opinions from practice to continue to improve. In the coming time, the City Social Insurance will continue to promote administrative procedure reform, apply digital technology, improve service quality, towards the satisfaction of people and businesses.
Ensuring long-term social security
Regarding the data interconnection roadmap, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Thao - Head of Information Technology and Digital Transformation Department shared about the regulation to stop issuing paper cards from June 1 for cases that meet the technology conditions. People going for medical examination and treatment can use citizen identification cards with chips, VssID applications or VNeID level 2 electronic identification accounts. This conversion helps synchronize the data system, reduce paperwork and shorten procedure time at medical facilities.
Regarding direct benefits when participating in traffic, Mr. Luu Phuoc Hoang - Deputy Head of the Department in charge of the Health Insurance Regime Department added that the new regulation has abolished the clause of exclusion for personal violations causing physical harm, so people who use alcohol and beer and have traffic accidents when admitted to the hospital are still paid by the health insurance fund according to the prescribed benefit level.
In addition, social insurance also answers the issue of reducing the minimum number of years of social insurance contribution to receive a pension from 20 years to 15 years according to the 2024 Social Insurance Law. Representatives of the professional department said that this step forward helps late participants or those with intermittent contributions still have the opportunity to receive free pensions and health insurance cards when they are old.
Answering a question from a group of young workers about the trend of financial freedom, Mr. Van Phu Long - Head of the Department of Propaganda and Support for Participants recommended that people should harmoniously combine personal savings and participate in social security insurance protected by the State to create a solid foundation against long-term risks. In addition, the contents on expanding the subjects of compulsory contributions for business households, easing the insurance payment deadline for businesses until the last day of the next month and supplementing maternity benefits for voluntary participants were also resolved in detail by the advisory board, showing the spirit of companionship and sharing of the social security system.
