Supporting 1.4 million VND for travel, businesses still find it difficult to recruit workers

Faced with the need to recruit tens of thousands of workers in industrial parks and economic zones, many businesses in Nghe An have proactively increased salaries and improved welfare to attract human resources. However, the recruitment source has not yet met actual needs.

Many benefits for workers

In early May 2025, Mr. Nguyen Van Trung (41 years old, from Nghi Loc district, Nghe An, an electronics worker in Binh Duong) decided to bring his wife (working with the Company) and 2 young children to Nghe An to apply for a job at a company in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park.

Mr. Trung said: "My family has worked and lived in Binh Duong for nearly 10 years, the couple also has a good income, but they return to their hometown once a year, the cost is expensive so they cannot save much. Now that there is information that businesses in the province are recruiting workers with quite good income and benefits, my husband and I decided to return to our hometown to apply.

According to the Management Board of the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone, in 2025 alone, in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park, the total labor demand will reach more than 42,000 people, mainly unskilled laborers. Luxshare-ICT Company Limited - one of the largest investors - plans to recruit more than 33,000 workers. Many enterprises in WHA, Nam Cam, Hoang Mai I, II Industrial Parks... are also looking for thousands of workers in the fields of electronics, mechanics, garment, and auto components.

To compete in the labor market, businesses have introduced a series of attractive policies such as: Salary from 7-10 million VND/month, allowances for meals, accommodation, fuel, diligence bonuses, Tet bonuses, arranging free dormitories and pick-up and drop-off vehicles. Some companies such as Luxshare-ICT also support 1.4 million VND for travel costs for each candidate and 9 million VND for new workers.

In the past, the authorities of Nghe An province have had many solutions to support businesses in recruiting workers. Notably, the organization of Job Fairs at VSIP, WHA, Nam Cam Industrial Parks, attracted thousands of workers and candidates.

Employment service centers have increased recruitment information propaganda through grassroots communication systems and social networks, coordinating the organization of vocational counseling classes for young people and local workers.

The attraction is not big enough

From the beginning of 2025, businesses in industrial parks and economic zones of Nghe An have recruited about 22,000 workers. However, according to the evaluation of functional agencies and trade unions of the Southeastern Nghe An Economic Zone, the number of recruitment workers has not met the needs of the business. The main reason is due to a sudden increase in labor demand while the supply is limited. On the other hand, despite raising salaries, the current income in Nghe An is not equal to some development areas such as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Bac Ninh ...

In addition, the cost of living in some localities in Nghe An is still high, especially for accommodation and food. Many places do not have schools near industrial parks, and lack support services to take workers' children to school, making workers hesitant when choosing to work long-term in the locality.

According to Vice President of the Trade Union of Nghe An Southeast Economic Zone Tran Thi Nguyet, to solve the problem of labor shortage, a more synchronous strategy is needed.

Ms. Nguyet emphasized: Enterprises need to increase salaries and benefits so that the income of workers is equal to or higher than other key industrial parks in the country. At the same time, the government and investors need to coordinate to build cheap or free dormitories, build schools and have support policies to take workers' children to school. Only then can workers feel secure in stabilizing their lives and staying with the company for a long time".

It is expected that in the coming time, with the strong participation of both businesses and the government, Nghe An will become an attractive destination not only for work but also for establishing a sustainable career.
