Support 2 billion VND for thousands of electricity workers affected by floods

Vietnam Electricity Trade Union (VTC) has just issued a Decision on supporting collectives of workers affected by storm No. 13 (KALMAEGI) and the recent floods.

Consecutive storms and floods have put great pressure on the power system in the Central region. Electricity industry staff and workers must be on duty 24/7 to ensure the safety of people and equipment. When forecasting heavy rain and flooding, power management teams raced against time, promptly unloading loads ( proactively cutting off power) to ensure safety for people before floodwaters rose. When the flood recedes, they rush to check, handle incidents, pull up lines, replace damaged equipment; at the same time, support people to check electricity in their homes to avoid fires, incidents... Many officers and employees cannot return home to fight the flood.

Before that, storm No. 13 caused a lot of damage, the Electricity industry's employees had just fixed the problem, rebuilt the pole, and pulled the wire back, but the next flood came, submerging their efforts. The journey of strengthening the rain and wading water of electrical workers therefore took many consecutive days. Overcoming all the fatigue, the Electricity industry's employees wholeheartedly "saved the power" after the flood.

On the front line of natural disaster response, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) has synchronously deployed many solutions to shorten the time to fix the incident. The Corporation not only mobilizes 100% of on-site staff in localities, but also has to continuously flexibly "report" from member units. In just over the past 3 weeks, EVNCPC has mobilized more than 3,000 shock troops from member units in a timely manner to participate in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

In order to encourage and motivate the staff to participate in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union decided to support 2 billion VND for the collective of workers in the Central and Southern regions affected by storm No. 13 in 2025, including: Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) (1 billion VND), Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) (500 million VND), National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) (500 million VND); assigned the Trade Unions of the above units to promptly visit the above amount to their units. The donation is taken from the revenue under Joint Directive 630/CTLT-EVN-CDVN dated October 3, 2025 issued by Vietnam Electricity Group and Vietnam Electricity Trade Union on implementing internal security for workers, supporting people to overcome storms and floods and helping the Cuban people.
