Implementing the obligation to be a member of the Asia-Pacific Regional International Trade Union Network (UNI Apro) and the responsibility of a member of the Executive Committee of UNI Apro, Mr. Pham Quang Huong - Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology (S&T) - has just led the delegation of the Vietnam S&T Union to attend the 35th UNI Apro Executive Committee Conference in Singapore.
This year's conference was assessed by UNI Apro as taking place in the context of a world full of fluctuations and conflicts taking place in many regions of the world; AI has really threatened job security and safety in some issues... The conference focused on discussing and đưa ra orientations, policies, and joint statements for trade union activities revolving around action mottoes, organizational development, behavior towards young workers, ensuring sustainable finance for trade unions, AI control and election of UNI Secretary General for the new term.
With the spirit of innovation, the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union has actively and proactively exchanged and cooperated, showing a spirit and steady progress in the regional trade union organization. The delegation also had sideline meetings with senior leaders of UNI World and UNI Apro; congratulated the new President of UNI Apro - Ms. Tomoko Nagashima; met with UNI Secretary-General - Ms. Christy Hoffman and UNI Apro Secretary-General - Mr. Rajendra Kumar...

The delegation also had meetings, connections, sharing information, experiences and opinions on trade union activities, on the world situation, Vietnam and other countries with some leaders of UNI Apro Committees, with UNI coordinators in Japan, Korea and with major trade union organizations such as: Japan Post Corporation Trade Union (JPGU); Japan Union of Textile, Chemical, Trade, Food and General Services (UA Zensen); Japan Information Technology and Communications Union (ICTJ); Korea Finance and Service Union (KFWU)...
With the active and proactive participation of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union in the past time, the score for assessing the role, prestige and effectiveness of UNI Apro members for the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union increased sharply from 11 points before 2023 (the period when UNI and UNI Apro began to assess and classify members) to 58 points in 2026. The Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union is also ready to conquer the milestone of 72 points (the milestone of upgrading members to enjoy more preferential support and benefits from UNI Apro).
