Attending and giving opening speeches were Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) Nguyen Xuan Hung; representatives of leaders of professional departments of the VGCL; leaders of Dong Thap Provincial VGCL; and more than 100 trade union officials from commune, ward, industrial park, economic zone trade unions and provincial VGCL agencies.
Speaking at the opening, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung emphasized that in the context of the trade union organization model having many innovations, commune and ward trade union officials need to firmly grasp professional skills, be close to union members and workers, proactively grasp their thoughts and aspirations and promptly handle arising problems.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Xuan Hung requested that trainees promote the spirit of frank exchange, linking knowledge with reality, with the motto "learning goes hand in hand with practice, taking operational efficiency and satisfaction of union members and workers as a measure". Through this, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour has more information from the grassroots level to continue to improve guidance and support local trade unions to operate effectively.
The training class takes place in two days, September 18 and 19, focusing on updating new points of the Charter of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union; exchanging professional skills on union member development, establishment of grassroots trade unions, management of trade union finances and assets, inspection and supervision work and activities of the Inspection Committee.
In addition, trainees are equipped with additional knowledge and skills in performing the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
Through the training class, trade union officials at all levels are updated with knowledge, unified methods and shared experiences, contributing to building a team of professionally skilled officials, close to the grassroots level, close to union members; gradually bringing trade union activities into order, better meeting the requirements of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
