According to the report of the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor (VFF), this year's Workers' Month activities closely follow the theme "Vietnamese Workers Pioneer in Entering the New Era", with many practical and meaningful contents.
At the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and Month of Action on occupational safety and hygiene, held at Bao Tien Trading & Production Co., Ltd., the province presented 300 gifts (worth VND500,000/gift), supported the construction of 13 "Union Shelters" (VND650 million), and awarded 30 scholarships to children of poor and studious workers.
The Provincial Federation of Labor also presented 4,000 gifts (500,000 VND/gift), supported 12 people with work-related accidents, and coordinated to mobilize 10,766 more gifts for union members in difficult circumstances, with a total value of more than 4.8 billion VND.
During Workers' Month, the whole province admitted 1,820 new union members, introducing 490 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of admission. Cultural and sports activities such as the game show "Tan ca vui - khoe" , sports festival and blood donation festival (receiving 230 units of blood) were also organized enthusiastically.
Ms. Tran Thi Kim Chung - President of the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor - said that Workers' Month is an opportunity for all levels of the Union to clearly demonstrate their role in representing, caring for, and protecting the rights of workers, thereby further strengthening the trust and attachment of workers to the Trade Union organization.
