The signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in training and fostering the improvement of qualifications for trade union officials, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation in coordination with the Trade Union University, was held on the morning of June 20 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation will create conditions for cadres, union members, and workers of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to participate in short-term training and fostering courses organized by the Trade Union University. The funding is guaranteed for cadres, union members, and workers participating in training, fostering, and coaching courses paid by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation.
The Trade Union University will be responsible for training and fostering the issuance of certificates and certificates each year for 4 classes of trade union accounting, 4 classes of occupational safety and hygiene technical skills, 4 classes of legal knowledge for trade union officials and 4 classes of grassroots trade union chairman title.

At the same time, train other programs according to regulations for union officials, union members, and workers of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation. Forms of in-person, online training or a combination of in-person and online training.
The goal of the cooperation program is to improve the quality of training, short-term fostering and training to update knowledge and professional skills for union cadres at all levels under the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation in the period of 2025 - 2028.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that after the merger between Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong province and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Ho Chi Minh City will have a large number of grassroots unions and union members. This requires each union cadre to have enough knowledge, qualifications, and skills to meet the requirements of union work in the new period, the era of national growth.
Coordinating with the Trade Union University to provide training and short-term fostering for trade union cadres is an urgent requirement to improve the qualifications, knowledge and skills of trade union cadres.
Mr. Thai also suggested that training must be combined between theory and practice so that each union cadre after studying and being trained will be able to apply knowledge and skills to work immediately.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Manh Hung also committed to arranging highly qualified lecturers to train, foster and coach the team of trade union officials of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to participate in the classes, meeting the practical requirements of trade union activities in the coming period.
