Khanh Hoa prioritizes resources for building social housing

Regarding the policy of building social housing for low-income people and industrial park workers, Khanh Hoa province has implemented many solutions, including removing difficulties and obstacles so that investors can effectively implement future projects.

Many positive signals

In October 2024, the Department of Construction of Khanh Hoa province reported on the progress of social housing projects according to the Prime Minister's "Project to invest in building at least 1 million social housing units for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period 2021 - 2030".

Implementing the Prime Minister's Project, the Ministry of Construction allocated a target of 7,800 social housing units to Khanh Hoa province. Of which, phase 1 (2021 - 2025) is 3,400 units; phase 2 (2026 - 2030) is 4,400 units.

At the time of reporting, Khanh Hoa province had basically completed 3,364/3,400 units of the first phase, reaching nearly 99% of the allocated target. With the number of social housing projects being implemented, the province is expected to complete 4,506 units, exceeding the allocated target of phase 1.

For phase 2, Khanh Hoa province will implement 3 identified social housing projects and deploy a number of social housing projects in urban areas to meet the allocated project plan.

One of the main objectives of the project is to target the right subjects with real needs for social housing. Up to now, Khanh Hoa province has reviewed the social housing needs of officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers in state agencies in the area.

Prioritize using clean land to build social housing

In 2024, Khanh Hoa has a number of housing projects being implemented such as Hung Phu Social Housing Project (Nha Trang) with 1,221 units; Cam Ranh Social Housing Project with 3,565 units; Cam Ranh Bay Urban Area Project with 9,816 units; Vinpearl Phu Quy Residential Area (Nha Trang) with 602 units.

Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Nguyen Ngoc Minh said that the department is actively advising Khanh Hoa province to review and urge investors to implement social housing investment according to the approved schedule.

According to the leader of the Department of Construction of Khanh Hoa province, the locality will continue to clearly identify the location and prioritize the use of clean land funds managed by the locality to implement social housing projects using budget capital; increase efficiency and transparency in the process of selecting investors; encourage implementation through auction and bidding methods for urban development projects, housing development, and social housing development.

During the meeting on the "Project to invest in at least 1 million social housing units for low-income earners and industrial park workers in the period of 2021 - 2030" - Mr. Tran Hoa Nam - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa province - assigned the Department of Construction to determine the locations for implementing social housing projects, closely following local planning. For projects that have proposed investment policies but are waiting for planning, Mr. Tran Hoa Nam requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with localities to review the planning suitability of these projects and advise on solutions.

Regarding the policy of building social housing for workers and laborers in difficult circumstances, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Chairman of Khanh Hoa province - emphasized that the provincial leaders always determine their responsibility towards the working class and laborers. Mr. Tuan assessed that the issue of building social housing is currently of great concern not only to workers but also to the province because the Housing Law and the Real Estate Business Law will come into effect soon with many new points. Currently, Khanh Hoa province has also re-counted the demand for social housing of workers in the spirit of ensuring that every worker can buy a house.
