Union member Nguyen Van Thanh - owner and captain of fishing vessel QN-90568-TS, residing in Phu Hai village, Quang Ha commune, Quang Ninh province: I still haven't forgotten the moment of life and death that happened in the early morning of July 3, 2026. At about 1:28 am, when the ship was on its way to shore to avoid the wind, it suddenly encountered a very strong storm. Big waves continuously hit the hull of the ship in the area about 10 nautical miles from Co To island. Everything happened too quickly, the ship suddenly sank, the lives of the 7 crew members at that time were only counted in minutes.
Thanks to the urgent rescue of friendly ships, all 7 of us were brought onto the ship safely. Keeping our lives is extremely lucky.
However, the ship along with all fishing gear and assets remained under the sea.
The ship completely sank, all the capital accumulated for many years was lost. My family and the crew members fell into extremely difficult circumstances because our livelihoods were heavily affected.
In a moment of seemingly deadlock, I received support from the Vietnam Fisheries Humanitarian Fund donated by the Vietnam Fisheries Union.
That support is not only material value but also a great source of encouragement. I have more motivation to gradually repair and reequip my boats and continue to reach out to sea and stick to the sea.
Mr. Do Dinh Hai - worker of BIEL CRYSTAL Vietnam Production Co., Ltd. (Bac Ninh): I suffered from ophthalmic shock and eye socket bruising when participating in the second Bac Ninh Provincial Workers' Men's and Women's Football Tournament in 2026. At that time, I was very worried because the injury directly affected my eyes.

Immediately upon hearing the news, representatives of the Bac Ninh Provincial Labor Federation came to the hospital to visit, encourage and provide support of 5 million VND and a gift.
I am really very touched. That timely concern helps me feel that I always have the Trade Union organization accompanying me, adding motivation to feel secure in treatment and soon return to work.
The care of the Trade Union does not only appear when union members encounter risks. At my company, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union regularly organizes many practical activities such as giving Tet gifts, supporting workers in difficult circumstances, caring for them during Workers' Month... These actions make employees always feel the bond and sharing.
Ms. Lam Thi Le Tham - union member of Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company No. 25 (HCMC): Recalling 2019, the Company's grassroots trade union deployed a review of union members in difficult circumstances to consider support from the Vietnam Medical Union Social Fund. My family was fortunate to be selected.
At that time, my husband and I lived with my parents-in-law in a seriously degraded apartment building. After selling the old apartment, the family only had enough money to buy a small piece of land in the alley, but no longer had the ability to build a house.
The income of both husband and wife is not enough to build a new home. We once thought we would have to wait many more years.
Thanks to the "Trade Union Shelter" program, my family built a 60m2 house with a total cost of more than 200 million VND. Of which, the Vietnam Medical Union Social Fund supported 30 million VND, the family saved 60 million VND, and the rest was helped and supported by relatives.
Until now, every time I step into my house, I still feel grateful. If it weren't for the support of the Trade Union, my family would hardly have a complete home like today. With a place to live, my husband and I can feel secure in working, taking care of our children and striving to rise up in life.
