On August 19, the People's Committee of Can Tho City coordinated with Aranya Vietnam Joint Stock Company to organize a groundbreaking ceremony for the Housing Project in the Trade Union Institution Area in An Nghiep Industrial Park, Soc Trang Ward.
This is one of 250 key projects and works selected by the Government to hold a simultaneous groundbreaking ceremony and inauguration in all three regions of the North - Central - South, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Previously, the People's Committee of Soc Trang province (old) decided to lease over 28,000m2 of land to Aranya Vietnam Joint Stock Company to build a housing project in the Trade Union Institution area in An Nghiep Industrial Park.
The project has a total investment of about 874 billion VND. The scale of 6 social housing buildings is from 9 to 15 floors high, 1 commercial building is 15 floors high, 1 kindergarten with an area of 2,182 m2 and a green landscape system. The total number of apartments is about 1,200. The population is about 2,500 people. The apartments are designed to suit the living needs of workers' and laborers' families with average and low incomes.
The project is also planned synchronously with essential utilities: community activity area in the Trade Union Institution area, children's playground, green park area, basic commercial service system, to build a civilized and safe living environment, which is convenient for residents.
The project consists of 2 phases, phase 1 invests in technical infrastructure, kindergartens and 5 social housing buildings, starting construction within 12 months from the date of land allocation, completing within 36 months. Phase 2 of investment in commercial housing and remaining social housing buildings will be implemented within 9 months from the end of phase 1, completed within 21 months.
The implementation of this project is of great significance in solving the housing needs of low-income people and workers in industrial parks, especially An Nghiep Industrial Park, contributing to the realization of the Government's 1 million social housing projects and the Can Tho City Social Housing Development Plan. At the same time, the project will create momentum to promote the socio-economic development of Soc Trang ward in particular and Can Tho city in general.
