Initiative contributions to the Corporation
As a member of the engine team, Aircraft Engineering Department, Technical Department, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc was sent by the Corporation and the unit to study specialized courses and was assigned to be in charge of the engine, preparing to put the new Boeing 787 and Airbus A321NEO aircraft into operation.
According to Mr. Phuoc, this is a challenging job as it always has to grasp new technology. In 2024, the unit and Mr. Phuoc carried out many tasks to ensure the resources of the aircraft exploited for the Corporation.
Mr. Phuoc said that in 2024, the fleet resources of the corporation were seriously affected by a number of quality problems from the engine manufacturers using Airbus A321NEO aircraft, leading to many aircraft having to temporarily suspend exploitation while the engines were recalled by the manufacturer for inspection and equipment replacement.
Due to the impact on the fleet resources, the engineering team of the Corporation's Technical Department set goals and solutions to minimize the impact on the operation, speed up the repair process while still ensuring absolute safety for the engines.
Therefore, in 2024, Mr. Phuoc's team has conducted in-depth research and coordinated with the engine manufacturer to propose the initiative "optimizing repair content for the A321NEO flight crew engine to reduce the number of trains stopped due to lack of engines" which has been approved by the Council for consideration and approval.
The application of the initiative to optimize repair content has the main and direct benefit of reducing engine repair time, contributing to increasing the number of aircraft in operation for the Corporation.
The benefit of the initiative is that it saves 669 days of repair, estimated to benefit about 72 billion VND, calculated based on the cost of renting engines for exploitation.
motivation to strive when honored
Having joined the aviation industry since August 2010, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc has had a sustainable development journey. Proud of that journey is that on September 16, 2017, he officially became a party member, working at the Technical Department Party Cell, Vietnam Airlines Corporation.
Having spent nearly 8 years in the Party's ranks, in 2020 and 2021, he was a Party member who completed his tasks excellently.
Mr. Phuoc said that he always absolutely believes in and strictly complies with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the Corporation's rules and regulations, trains, cultivates ethics, actively studies, improves qualifications and professional skills.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc will be one of 95 outstanding workers who are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam to be honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor at the program held on February 16 in Hanoi.
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Phuoc said that this is not only his own joy but also the pride and excitement of his family and unit. Being recognized will be a motivation for him to strive, and at the same time, a challenge for him to do his job better.
"I will try harder to be an exemplary Party member, contributing to businesses and the country, worthy of the trust of my colleagues and the organization" - Mr. Phuoc expressed.
Sharing more about his daily work, Mr. Phuoc said: People often talk about the profession of aircraft engineer in a very concise but extremely concise sentence: It is a profession in which the whole family only misses him during holidays and Tet. Because, Tet is an occasion for everyone to rest and gather, for those working in the aviation industry in general and for aircraft engineers in particular, it is the time when work is most heavy.
Simply put, "even during Tet, the plane doesn't stop flying".
"Although not located at the airport, the Aircraft Engineering Department still operates as a frontline unit, ready to handle any arising technical problems" - Mr. Phuoc shared.
