The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation held a conference to announce and hand over decisions on the establishment and arrangement of units under the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union system on the afternoon of March 12.
At the conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation announced the decision to establish the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Organization - Inspection Board, on the basis of merging the Organization Board and Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Inspection Committee; the decision to establish the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Professional Department on the basis of merging the Policy - Law Committees, the Propaganda Department and the Women's Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation.
The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation also announced the decision to establish the Trade Union of Ho Chi Minh City Party Agencies and the Trade Union of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
At the same time, assign Vice Presidents of the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor to be in charge of the departments of the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor.
Accordingly, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation Le Thi Kim Thuy is in charge of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Organization and Inspection Committee; Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation Pham Chi Tam is in charge of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Professional Affairs Committee; Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation Phung Thai Quang is in charge of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Finance Committee; and Deputy Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation Le Thi Diem Ngan is in charge of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Office.
Also at the conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation announced the decisions to dissolve 12 industry, department, and block unions, the Ho Chi Minh City Civil Servants' Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Public Service and Public Service Trade Union.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that in a short time of implementing the arrangement of the apparatus and system of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union, the structure, organization and apparatus of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation have been basically completed according to the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
During the implementation process, many union officials have been willing to sacrifice their rights to create favorable conditions for the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union to reorganize and streamline the apparatus, so that the activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organization are increasingly streamlined, compact, strong, effective, and efficient in performing their functions and tasks with union members and workers.
Mr. Thai also suggested that cadres of newly established departments and unions quickly start their tasks with a new spirit and responsibility, determined to perform their tasks well, first of all, organize activities to care for union members and workers in the 2025 Workers' Month.
Thus, implementing the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Central Executive Committee on "Continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently", under the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has reduced 3 thematic committees compared to before, to only 4 committees, including: Office, Organizing - Inspection Committee, Professional Committee and Finance Committee.
At the same time, 67 affiliated units have been reduced, of which the number of trade unions at the grassroots level has been reduced from 46 to 25 (a decrease of 21 units) and the number of comprehensive grassroots trade unions has been reduced from 68 to 22 (a decrease of 46 units).
