On the afternoon of March 18, the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) held a conference to directly and online deploy the Trade Union Law 2024 and the Social Insurance Law 2024. Mr. Le Dinh Quang - Deputy Head of the Department of Policy, Law and Labor Relations - Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented at the conference.
The 2024 Trade Union Law has 6 chapters and 37 articles and takes effect from July 1, 2025. The 2024 Trade Union Law expands the right of employees to establish, join and operate trade unions. The Law also stipulates more specifically the rights and responsibilities of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; adding the right to supervision and social criticism of the Trade Union.
The Social Insurance Law 2024 consists of 11 chapters and 141 articles and will also take effect from July 1, 2025. The 2024 Social Insurance Law has many major changes and adds many benefits to participants such as adding social pension benefits, maternity benefits, occupational accident benefits; changing regulations on enjoying sick leave benefits; expanding the subjects eligible to participate in compulsory social insurance, voluntary social insurance; increasing the opportunity to receive pensions for social insurance participants...
Mr. Nguyen Van Qui - Chairman of the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor - said that through the implementation of the 2024 Trade Union Law and the 2024 Social Insurance Law, Trade Union officials in the province have a better grasp of the content of the law, especially the new points, thereby performing well the assigned tasks, contributing to building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization.
