Each trade union official needs to be seen as a digital media worker

KHÁNH AN |

On the afternoon of June 3, under the chairmanship of Mr. Vu Anh Duc - Member of the Presidium, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Ms. Do Hong Van - Member of the Presidium, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, delegates at Workshop Center No. 4 discussed the topic "Innovating propaganda, mobilization and women's work in the current period".

Presenting a presentation at Workshop Center No. 4, Ms. Pham Thi Xuan Quyen - Director of the Legal Consulting and Employee Support Center, Hai Phong City Labor Federation - said that workers, especially young workers in industrial parks, are strongly shifting to the digital environment. To make digital transformation truly become a driving force for innovation in trade union activities in the coming period, according to Ms. Quyen, it is necessary to focus on implementing a number of key solutions.

Accordingly, it is necessary to strongly shift from "administrative communication" to "experiential communication". This is a breakthrough solution. Trade union communication content needs to be changed in a more approachable, lively, emotional and interactive direction. In which, it is necessary to strengthen short videos, infographics, podcasts; livestream dialogues with union members; minigames, online challenges. Along with that, it is necessary to apply AI to personalize content by user group.

Each trade union official needs to be seen as a digital media person, capable of using social networks to spread positive information, orient public opinion and connect union members" - Ms. Quyen emphasized. According to Ms. Quyen, it is necessary to identify digital skills training for trade union officials as a key, regular and long-term task. It is necessary to build in-depth training programs on: Digital communication skills; multimedia content design; fanpage management, digital platforms; AI application in communication...

Presenting a presentation at Workshop Center No. 4, Ms. Nguyen Vinh Hong - Vice President of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union - said that each happy family is a fulcrum for workers to feel secure in sticking with businesses and trade union organizations. Therefore, caring for union member families is not only a social security activity but also an investment in the sustainable development of businesses, industries and the Vietnam Trade Union organization. Ms. Hong proposed to increase resources for models of caring for workers' children, especially in industries that employ many female workers; and at the same time build more communication products on digital platforms to guide parenting skills and educate children in the new context.
