Accompanying workers and employees in difficulty
Talking to Lao Dong, the representative of the Can Tho City Labor Federation emphasized that the Tet care activities not only motivate and encourage union members and employees to work productively and effectively, but also contribute to affirming the role and responsibility of the Trade Union organization in caring for union members and employees; helping to strengthen the trust and connect union members and employees with the Trade Union organization.
With the motto "Solidarity and unanimity so that all union members and workers can have Tet", the city's Trade Unions at all levels are actively implementing activities to care for Tet for union members and workers in the area, prioritizing those in especially difficult circumstances.
The program "Accompanying Union members and workers in difficult circumstances" is expected to support 9,000 Union members and workers in difficult circumstances; those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses; those affected by natural disasters, fires, reduced working hours, or job loss; Union members and workers from policy families; workers who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years, and workers who have not returned home to work, labor, or produce during Tet.
The Trade Union of Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones will visit, encourage and give gifts to workers who cannot return home for Tet, and workers in difficult circumstances at the self-managed workers' groups in the dormitory areas.
Timely grasp of thoughts and aspirations
Regarding the activities to take care of Tet this year, Ms. Pham Kim Tuyen - President of the Labor Union of Thot Not District - said that the unit is actively developing a plan towards the goal of all employees and workers having a meaningful, warm and cozy Tet.
The District Labor Federation will proactively review and grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and employees in the area to promptly care for, support, and help union members and employees enjoy the Spring Festival. Based on the review, the unit will make a list of union members and employees in especially difficult circumstances to receive support gifts according to the amount allocated from the City Labor Federation. The district alone plans to give 200 gifts from the union's budget.
Because it is an industrial park with a large concentration of workers, the District Labor Federation plans to organize a meeting for workers. In addition to giving Tet gifts, the unit will organize spring activities bearing the Union's mark to create excitement, helping union members and workers to enthusiastically produce.
With nearly 50 years of establishment and development, Mr. Nguyen Le Giao - Chairman of the Trade Union of Can Tho General Printing Joint Stock Company - said that in recent times, the unit has always paid attention to improving working conditions and environment, implementing many policies to care for material and spiritual life, helping union members and employees to be excited about production, feel secure at work, contributing to improving the production and business efficiency of the company.
For the upcoming Lunar New Year, the company's Trade Union will base on the actual situation of the unit to organize activities to care for the New Year for the union members and employees. In order for all union members and employees to have a happy New Year, the unit is proactively grasping the thoughts, wishes and learning about the family circumstances of the union members and employees, especially those in difficult circumstances, those with relatives living with serious illnesses, or those who are sick and being treated in the hospital. Thereby, a list of each specific subject will be made to have a suitable care regime.
“The Company’s Trade Union will review and compile a list of employees and workers in difficult circumstances who will receive Tet gifts as allocated by the City Labor Federation; receive Tet gifts supported by the Board of Directors and receive Tet gifts from the Trade Union as well as organize visits and give gifts to employees and workers in difficult circumstances during Tet,” said Mr. Giao.
