At noon on December 13, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - delivered the closing speech at the 6th Conference of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation (term XIII).
After 2 days of work, with a spirit of urgency and responsibility, the conference completed the proposed contents and was a great success.
Noting that there is only a little over a month left until Lunar New Year, in addition to regular tasks, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang requested that all levels of trade unions focus on implementing key contents well.
In particular, trade unions at all levels need to organize well activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 according to the policies and plans issued by the Presidium of the General Confederation of Labor, ensuring practicality, effectiveness, and bringing the most benefits to union members and workers.
Along with that, regularly grasp the situation of thoughts and legitimate aspirations of union members and workers, especially before, during and after Tet; grasp the situation of labor relations, employment, wages, Tet bonuses, promptly handle developments arising among workers and laborers.
Step up propaganda on the Trade Union Law, especially new points in the Law; propagate, orient, combat, handle and refute distorted and hostile propaganda aimed at sabotaging the Party's guidelines, the State's laws and policies and the Trade Union organization.
The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested that trade unions at all levels, especially those in localities with many industrial parks, export processing zones, and a large number of workers, strengthen coordination with functional agencies to regularly monitor, advise, and resolve arising issues, ensuring security for workers, avoiding passivity and surprise. Promote the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style among cadres, union members, and employees in accordance with the spirit of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW, dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo.
Focus on propaganda and drastic implementation of the organization and apparatus arrangement to be streamlined, strong, effective and efficient in accordance with the direction of the Central Steering Committee on summarizing Resolution 18.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang added that, based on the guidance document, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will review and, together with the Labor Confederations of provinces, cities, and sectors, give opinions to local Party committees to unify implementation in the trade union organization. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized that the Executive Committee members must determine the political determination to implement this content in their units.
Trade unions at all levels need to continue to promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions, especially in the non-state sector.
Guide and support grassroots trade unions to innovate content and methods, improve the quality of activities to attract and gather workers to join the trade union; deploy solutions to build a team of trade union officials, especially grassroots trade union chairmen and trade union officials at higher levels.
Strengthening supervision and social criticism according to Articles 16 and 17 of the Trade Union Law (amended); launching emulation campaigns to achieve achievements to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; well organizing financial collection and expenditure to ensure the drastic implementation of the Party and State's policies on thrift and waste prevention.

Previously, the Executive Committee unanimously approved the Conference Resolution to achieve the goals and tasks for 2025.
