The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) signed a cooperation agreement for the period 2026 - 2030 on the afternoon of May 15.
According to this agreement, the two sides will coordinate in training and fostering trade union officials, improving professional qualifications, professional skills and digital capacity for workers. At the same time, scientific research, innovation and technology transfer to serve the practicality of trade union activities and business development.
TDTU will implement university and postgraduate training programs and short-term training courses for trade union officials, union members and workers. The school also develops scholarship policies to support trade union officials and children of trade union officials belonging to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation system.
A notable point of the cooperation program is that the two sides promote research and application of science and technology to improve labor productivity, support businesses to adapt to digital transformation requirements and sustainable development. Scientific seminars, technology consulting, business support and intellectual property activities will also be implemented by the two sides in the coming period.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that through this cooperation program, trade union officials and workers in Ho Chi Minh City will have more opportunities to access training programs, update new skills and improve professional capacity in accordance with the requirements of the digital economy. At the same time, the program also contributes to promoting the role of higher education institutions in serving the community, accompanying the sustainable development of the Ho Chi Minh City trade union organization.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of TDTU - said that the cooperation between the two sides will open up a new linkage model between higher education institutions and trade union organizations to promote training, promote technology transfer, innovation and improve the quality of human resources for union members and workers in Ho Chi Minh City.
This is considered one of the pioneering comprehensive cooperation programs between higher education institutions and city-level trade unions in Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the connection between schools, trade unions and businesses in the context of digital transformation and international integration.

TDTU will allocate all resources and prioritize and accompany to train and improve the capacity of trade union officials and the qualifications of workers to meet the requirements of the new situation.
