Meal of Cohesion and Sharing
Implementing Instruction No. 49/HD-LDLD of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, from July 20 to September 2, 2025, a series of grassroots unions organized "Union Meals" for thousands of union members and workers.
The highlight is the program organized by the Quang Phu Ward Labor Union in coordination with Hong Duc Educational Equipment Joint Stock Company on July 28, 2025 with 160 meals worth VND 70,000/meal. The portion size is supplemented with chicken, beef, shrimp, dessert, an additional value of 40,000 VND compared to the daily shift, the budget is drawn from the union and the support of the enterprise.
In many other units, the scale of the organization is expanding. The Trade Union of Song Chu One Member Co., Ltd. serves more than 900 "Union Meals", the Trade Union of Hac Thanh Ward deploys for 3,200 union members, while the Trade Union of Hongshen Vietnam Shoe Materials Co., Ltd. (Yen Dinh Commune) organizes up to 280 meals with a value of 110,000 VND/meal (the trade union supports 50,000 VND, the enterprise contributes 60,000 VND). Each meal not only provides nutrition and saves costs for workers but also sends a message of sharing and solidarity.
Union Meal has become an opportunity for union members, workers, employers and union organizations to sit together, share thoughts and remove obstacles, thereby creating understanding and solidarity in the working environment. Not only feeding physically, warm meals also nourish the spirit, connect with colleagues, eliminate distance, and relieve stress and fatigue after work.
According to the leader of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, this is a symbolic activity for the spirit of "Union is a solid support for workers". In the context of economic difficulties and rising living prices, the support of nutritious meals from trade unions and businesses is a great encouragement both materially and spiritually. Many union members expressed that what they cherish most is the feeling of being cared for, valued, and feeling truly a member of the extended family.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Tuan - Chairman of the Trade Union of Hong Duc Education Equipment Joint Stock Company - shared: "We hope that workers will always enthusiastically compete to overcome difficulties, be creative, work in production, improve productivity, and contribute to the development of businesses. Union Meal is a practical way for businesses and unions to accompany workers.
Accompanying, responsibility
Not only stopping at the internal meaning of the business, this activity also spreads humanistic values to the community. Many grassroots trade unions combine to organize "warm meals" for disadvantaged workers, associated with volunteer activities, contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual love, building a humane, happy and sustainable working environment.
"Union Meal" shows the companionship and responsibility of the Trade Union organization in caring for the lives of employees, while raising awareness and responsibility of employers in ensuring nutrition for shift meals. This is a simple but profound cultural beauty that needs to be maintained and expanded.
Looking forward to the 1st Party Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term 2025 - 2030, along with many other outstanding achievements, "Union Meal" is a vivid demonstration of the spirit of innovation, creativity and practicality of Thanh Hoa Trade Union. Thereby, the Trade Union organization continues to affirm its central role in caring for and protecting the rights of employees, strengthening the trust and attachment of workers to the organization, contributing to the sustainable development of enterprises and the province.
