114, 527 turns of union members and workers are cared for
On April 2, Mr. Le An Hai - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union - said that the industry union is currently managing and directing 14 directly superior grassroots trade unions and 474 directly affiliated grassroots trade unions, with 139,883 union members/1,44,896 workers, including 45,160 female workers.
Implementing the policy of caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade has implemented many practical and meaningful activities. Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2026, the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade issued decisions to support 1,788 union members and workers in difficult circumstances at 70 affiliated grassroots trade unions with a total amount of 1.788 billion VND, deducted from trade union financial sources; each case was supported with 1 million VND.
In order to support union members to have a home to settle down and work, leaders of the Vietnam National Union of Industry and Trade visited and presented "Trade Union Home" support to 3 union members with a total amount of 159 million VND.
Although many units still face difficulties, trade union levels directly under it have proactively coordinated with the government and professional departments at the same level, practically taking care of the lives of union members and workers.
Typical units coordinating with professional departments at the same level and subordinate levels to effectively implement activities to care for union members and workers are: The Trade Union of Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation spent more than 7.8 billion VND; The Trade Union of Vietnam Steel Corporation - JSC spent more than 5.9 billion VND; The Trade Union of Hong Bao Shoe JSC spent more than 600 million VND... In incomplete reports from units in the industry, the entire industry spent 131.150 billion VND for 114,527 turns of union members and workers to benefit.
