Giving gifts to members in difficulty
Recently, the Labor Federation of Hai Chau District, Da Nang City organized a meeting and gave gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
At the meeting, leaders of the Hai Chau District Labor Federation visited and encouraged union members and workers with difficult circumstances who are working and living at school unions under Hai Chau District.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung - Vice Chairman of the Hai Chau District Labor Federation - said: "In recent years, the Party and the State, especially the City Labor Federation and the City People's Council, have issued resolutions to support additional funding to share and care for union members. Therefore, the lives of union members and workers have been somewhat improved."
On this occasion, the Hai Chau District Labor Federation presented 92 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to teachers and staff in difficult circumstances who have made great contributions to the education sector. The total support fund of 92 million VND was taken from the operating budget of the Hai Chau District Labor Federation. This is an opportunity for the district's Labor Unions at all levels to express their gratitude for the noble contributions of those working in the education sector.
Family breadwinner with salary over 5 million VND
Ms. Dang Thi Thanh, 57 years old, is a catering staff at Tien Sa Kindergarten (Hai Chau District, Da Nang City). Ms. Thanh has been doing this job for over 20 years. This is also the main job that supports her family of 5, because her husband is currently sick and unable to work. Ms. Thanh's son is old enough to work, but does not have a stable job.
“I just hope my son can take care of himself and I will be happy. I also have a daughter who is currently in her second year of university in Da Nang. Therefore, all living expenses in the family depend on the more than 5 million VND from this job,” Ms. Thanh confided.
Ms. Thanh also shared that she had borrowed more than 30 million VND from the loan program under Resolution No. 33 of the People's Council of Da Nang City. Therefore, when receiving support and encouragement from the Trade Union at all levels, Ms. Thanh expressed her great joy.
“Although the amount is not large, this is a spiritual gift on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20. We would like to thank the Trade Union at all levels for their support and help,” Ms. Thanh was moved.
Receiving a gift from the Hai Chau District Labor Federation, Ms. Trinh Thi Oanh, a supervisor at Tay Ho Primary School (Hai Chau District), could not hide her emotion. Ms. Oanh is a near-poor household in this locality. Each month, Ms. Oanh receives a salary of more than 5 million VND. This is also the amount of money she uses to take care of her two children studying at the University of Architecture (Da Nang City) and a secondary school in Hai Chau District.
According to Mr. Lu Trong Phuong - Chairman of the Hai Chau District Labor Federation, a number of wardens and caterers working at facilities and school units in the district are in very difficult circumstances. Many workers often do not receive wages during the summer months, although their monthly wages are quite low. Therefore, the Hai Chau District Labor Federation organized meetings, visits and gave gifts to these disadvantaged workers.
