Mr. Cu Phat Nghiep - President of the Trade Union of PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd.:
Under the leadership of the Party, our country is always politically stable, security, order, and social safety are guaranteed, these are good conditions to attract foreign investment, contributing to solving employment for people, and the lives of workers are increasingly improved and enhanced.
However, currently many workers still have to rent boarding houses to live and work. At PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd., about 50% of the nearly 41,000 workers still have to rent boarding houses near the company to work. With an average income of about 12 million VND/person/month, workers find it very difficult to buy a house to live in.
Therefore, workers and employees hope that the Party will have policies to accelerate the construction of social housing at cheap prices for workers and employees to buy or rent for a long time to stabilize their lives.
In addition, workers also want to reduce working hours. According to current regulations, workers still have to work 48 hours/week, so the time to rest to regenerate labor and take care of family and children is very little.
Ms. Pham Thi Hong Yen, President of the Trade Union of Intel Products Vietnam Co., Ltd.:
Our country is entering the era of deep integration and comprehensive digital transformation, with people and knowledge at the center. To move quickly and far, especially the workforce, those who directly create success, need to constantly learn. General Secretary To Lam has repeatedly emphasized that the spirit of lifelong learning is the pillar of a developed nation. However, workers still face many barriers in terms of finance, time and opportunities to access new knowledge.
When equipped with modern knowledge, benefits will spread to each individual, business and the whole society. Therefore, I hope that the Party and the State will expand scholarship policies, tuition fee exemptions and study support for workers, especially in key fields such as artificial intelligence, information technology, automation, and foreign languages, so that workers have the opportunity to study for life, and firmly step into the new era with the country.
Mr. Do Thanh Trung - Head of Department cum Head of Production Process Improvement Department of Samsung Ho Chi Minh City Electronics Co., Ltd. CE Complex (SEHC), member of the Ho Chi Minh City Delegation attending the 14th National Party Congress:
The draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress clearly show concern for improving income, improving working conditions, ensuring social security, housing, health and living environment for workers. This is the foundation for workers to feel secure in sticking with businesses, actively working, creating and contributing.
For the young generation, the orientations of the 14th National Party Congress will open up opportunities for learning, improving skills, mastering science and technology, and innovation, meeting the requirements of the new development period. We believe that with Resolution 57-NQ/TW "On breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation", along with the leadership of the Party, in the coming time, it will bring practical changes to the development of the country in general and workers in particular.
Ms. Phan Thi Thien - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Long Cuong Company:
Currently, there is still a part of workers and female workers with young children, whose lives are still facing many difficulties and hardships when their income is not high. Therefore, the majority of workers and employees want the 14th National Congress of the Party to pay attention to, lead, and direct the construction of a "sufficient salary for living" mechanism instead of just a "minimum salary". The salary level of workers and employees needs to be sufficient to regenerate labor, nurture at least one dependent person and have a small accumulation to prevent misfortune.
In addition, it is necessary to have effective market price stabilization measures, especially electricity, water, and rented rooms prices in areas with a large concentration of workers.
Female workers are valuable capital but are also vulnerable subjects, so it is necessary to include obstetrics and gynecology examinations and cervical cancer/gestation cancer screening in the list of mandatory annual health check-ups paid by businesses and included in the reasonable costs of businesses. The State also needs to compulsorily prioritize allocating land funds to build public kindergartens near industrial parks so that workers can feel secure in sending their children to labor production.Solving well the salary and social security problem for workers in general and female workers in particular will contribute to political stability and social order in the locality.
