Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui has just signed and issued the Program for developing union members (TUs), establishing grassroots trade unions (GS) in the period 2026 - 2030, associated with building a dynamic, creative, and responsible trade union official team. Identifying the development of TUs as a key task, Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation sets a target by 2030: reaching 250,000 union members nationwide; 100% of operating enterprises (DN) with 20 or more workers and laborers (CNLĐ) will establish trade union organizations.

In particular, the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation also set a goal on the quality of operation: every year 85% of commune and ward trade unions; 75% of grassroots trade unions and 65% of grassroots trade unions are ranked as completing tasks well or better. 100% of trade union officials at all levels will be trained and foster professional skills and operational skills. These figures not only aim to increase the number of union members but also emphasize the quality and efficiency factors... as a foundation to contribute to building a strong and substantive trade union organization.

Many synchronous and flexible solutions
To realize the above goals, the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation has implemented many key groups of solutions, which are synchronous and flexible.
In addition to establishing the Steering Committee for union development and establishing grassroots trade unions at the provincial level, Dong Thap promotes the role of Party committees, authorities and the coordination of sectors and unions in organizing implementation. Bringing the results of union development and building grassroots trade unions into the criteria for emulation and commendation of trade union levels. A key solution is to innovate the content and methods of propaganda and mobilization. According to Ms. Vui, trade unions at all levels will approach workers and businesses in flexible forms, suitable for each target group. In which, improving the effectiveness of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers is considered a core factor to attract union members.

On the other hand, focus on surveying and grasping the situation of businesses and workers. Through coordination with social insurance, tax and local authorities, trade union levels will update data, correctly identify subjects, and thereby develop practical mobilization plans, especially in industrial parks and areas with many businesses. According to Ms. Vui, in parallel, the construction of strong grassroots trade unions is implemented through innovation in operating methods, improving the quality of trade union activities, and perfecting the mechanism for evaluation and classification. Emulation movements among workers continue to be promoted to create motivation to improve productivity and efficiency...

Dong Thap also focuses a lot on building a contingent of trade union officials. Training and fostering are carried out methodically, aiming to form a contingent of officials with bravery, dialogue capacity, mobility skills and prestige among workers.
With a clear orientation from targets to solutions, Dong Thap's union member development program for the period 2026 - 2030 is expected to create strong changes, contributing to building harmonious, stable, progressive labor relations, accompanying the socio-economic development of the locality.
