Dream come true
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thanh ensures the work of maintaining and caring for green trees at Gamuda Land Vietnam Co., Ltd. Always striving to complete her work well, her living conditions still face countless difficulties.
Due to marital upheaval, Ms. Thanh has been separated for more than 2 years, alone carrying the burden of raising two children, one child is taking the university entrance exam this year, one child is in 9th grade. Income of about 7.9 million VND (after paying social insurance) is only enough for living expenses for the 3 mothers and children, not enough to cover rent.
The three mothers and children once had to stay in an old, dilapidated house of her uncle in Nam Phu commune, Hanoi City. Understanding the circumstances and damp, unsafe living conditions of the three mothers and children, her younger brother's family and her parents decided to welcome Thanh and her children to live together.
The family agreed to donate 47m2 of land to help her stabilize her residence. However, with extremely difficult economic conditions, building a solid house on her own is still an impossible dream for Ms. Thanh if it is not for the joint efforts and support from the Trade Union organization, family and community.
In addition to funding from the Trade Union Warm House program launched by the Hanoi City Labor Federation, Ms. Thanh's family and the company's Trade Union have received additional support. Up to now, a solid level 4 house on an area of 47m2 with a total budget of 282,381,400 VND has become a reality.
Standing in her dream house, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thanh emotionally said: "Thanks to the Hanoi City Labor Federation, Yen So Ward Trade Union, Company Trade Union, siblings in the family and philanthropists, I was able to build a house for my children. I am grateful to those who have turned the dream that seemed to be just my and my children's dream into reality today.
Not only caring but also accompanying workers
Talking about the process of building the Trade Union Shelter for Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thanh, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Gamuda Land Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that in addition to the family's accumulated amount of 60,000,000,000 VND, the support fund for building the Trade Union Shelter of 50,000,000,000 VND from the City Labor Federation, and about 142,381,400 VND from other sources, the Company's Trade Union also mobilized socialized sources.
Accordingly, the company's Trade Union successfully connected with the Dream Making Real Estate Community, calling for a support level of 30,000,000,000 VND (accompanied by 1,000,000 VND in housewarming gifts) for the project named "Dream House No. 117".
Thanks to the efforts of all parties, the project has been completed and can be put into use. However, in order for Ms. Thanh and her children to move in a new house, the Trade Union of Gamuda Land Vietnam Co., Ltd. is still continuing to call for joint support from all officials and employees in the company.
This internal fund will be used to support more essential household items, cover the cost of purchasing furniture, helping Ms. Thanh and her three children have a truly complete, cozy and decent living space when moving to a new house.
