At the beginning of July 2026, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, all 149/149 houses under the Program to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses for children of resistance activists infected with chemical toxins have been started, reaching 100% of the plan.
Of which, 65 units have been completed, including 21 newly built units and 44 repaired units; the remaining 84 units are being accelerated by localities to be completed before July 25, towards the anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day and Vietnam Day for Victims of Agent Orange.

The support level is 60 million VND for each newly built house and 30 million VND for each repaired house, contributing to helping policy families have safe accommodation and gradually stabilize their lives.
In Quy Mong commune, the family of Mr. Vu Van Trong, the biological son of a resistance war activist infected with chemical toxins, has just started construction of a level 4 house about 70 m2. The project has a total cost of about 200 million VND, of which the State supported 60 million VND.
Mr. Trong shared that for many years living in a dilapidated house, his family always hoped to have the conditions to build a solid home, but the economy was still difficult.
The support of the State and the help of local authorities, armed forces and people have added motivation for the family to feel secure in building a new house and stabilizing their lives.

Not only Mr. Trong's family, but many households in the province are clearly feeling the meaning of the program.
In Lao Cai ward, Ms. Vu Thi Huong's family was handed over a new house after nearly a month of construction.
In addition to the funding support according to the program, Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station also supported 6 tons of cement and mobilized 20 turns of officers and soldiers to participate in labor days, contributing to helping families soon have a spacious place to live.
To accelerate progress, along with state funding, localities have actively mobilized socialized resources.

To date, 33 households have received human resource support from the army, police, militia and self-defense forces and mass organizations in the process of building and repairing houses.
Many localities are also mobilizing more construction materials and funding to accompany the program.
In which, Lao Cai ward mobilized about 130 million VND and 5 tons of cement; Duong Quy commune mobilized 8 tons of cement and 8 sand trucks; Yen Binh, Bao Ai, Chieng Ken, Khanh Yen, Tan Linh communes... also mobilized more cement, funds and working days, contributing to reducing construction costs and shortening construction time.
According to leaders of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, the program to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses for children of resistance war activists infected with chemical toxins not only contributes to solving housing difficulties but also expresses gratitude to families who have made many contributions to the revolutionary cause.
Therefore, the province requests localities to accelerate progress, ensure project quality, and strive to complete it on schedule so that families can soon stabilize their lives.

Each completed house not only helps policy families feel secure before the rainy and storm season but also contributes to spreading human values, continuing the tradition of "Gratitude", consolidating social security in Lao Cai province.
