Every dreamy morning, Ms. Vuong Thi Anh - Chairman of the Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union (Lao Cai) and many traders at Son Thinh market have been busy preparing free meals to send to people in flooded areas, who are isolated from the outside.
In the morning, we directly brought the rice to the Nam Cuong intersection and the beginning of Bach Lam bridge (old Yen Bai city), where many households were deeply flooded and their lives were still facing many difficulties. It is expected that during the day, 1,000 nutritious meals including meat, beans, peanuts, vegetables... from "Zero-dong Kitchen" will be delivered to the people", Ms. Vuong Thi Anh shared.
As a familiar volunteer address for each rainy and flood season, since early morning on September 30, the kitchen of Tung Duong wedding restaurant, Yen Bai ward, has been on fire when all staff were mobilized to participate in preparing 0 VND meals to support flood victims.
Not far away, nearly 50 female members gathered at Dai Vuong restaurant early to prepare charity meals. Under the skillful hands of the women, 400 meals were fully nutritious, expressing their sharing to families who were isolated in floodwaters.
Ms. Hoang Thi Hoa - Head of Dong Tam 4 Women's Association, Yen Bai Ward said: "The Women's Union at all levels of the ward has mobilized members to join hands to support funding and efforts to promptly support people in difficult times".
Unable to hide his emotions when receiving the rice, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - Hong Thanh residential group, Yen Bai ward shared: "Seeing the hot rice, my tears kept burning. Power outage, water outage, flooded houses, we could not prepare our own meals, but everyone arrived in time, bringing with us all their humanity.
Doctor Nguyen Van Chien - Deputy Director of Yen Bai Regional Medical Center - said: "Receiving charity meals, the medical team, doctors and patients were all moved. Each box of rice ensures nutrition, food hygiene and safety, helping patients to be in good health, giving them more spirit to overcome difficulties, and continue to treat diseases during the days of high floods".
