So that workers always have a place to lean on
As Head of Production Department of Liwayway Da Nang Food Industry Co., Ltd., Ms. Ha's work is associated with production lines, raw materials, delivery plans and hundreds of workers in the factory.
But when she put on the "coat" of Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union, what Ms. Ha cared more about was the lives of workers.
For more than 10 years of holding the position of Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union of Liwayway Da Nang Food Industry Co., Ltd., Ms. Ha has always been present in dialogues between workers and businesses, listening to each thought and recommendation to find common ground.
According to her, the most important thing for a trade union official is to build trust with union members and workers.
When workers trust us, they will be willing to share difficulties in work as well as life. As for businesses, when they see the trade union accompanying and removing obstacles together, everything will be much smoother," Ms. Ha shared.
From that thought, many activities to care for union members are regularly maintained by the grassroots Trade Union such as propaganda on taking care of female workers' health, organizing sports and arts festivals, sightseeing, voluntary blood donation, caring for union members' children, supporting union members in difficult circumstances or mobilizing donations to help people affected by natural disasters.
These actions are not too big, but contribute to creating a cohesive working environment, where workers feel the concern from the trade union organization.
Happiness is created from companionship
If at the business, Ms. Ha spends a lot of time for the collective, then when she returns home, family is always the top priority.
She believes that to take good care of workers, first of all, oneself must have a happy family.
Ms. Ha and her husband share responsibility in work and life. The two children are oriented by their parents to be independent, study hard and actively participate in school activities.
In the small house, common meals are still preserved by the whole family as an indispensable time. That is when everyone tells each other stories of the day, shares joys, and pressures in work and study.
No matter how busy I am with work, I still try to spend time with my family. We always listen to each other, share housework and teach our children to love and be responsible to themselves and the community," Ms. Ha said.
Her family also maintains a frugal lifestyle, building a reasonable financial plan to have conditions to invest in their children's education. More importantly, the couple always agrees to educate their children by their own way of life, from honesty at work, learning spirit to a civilized attitude towards everyone.
The companionship of the members has helped the family be recognized as a typical cultural family for many consecutive years and become one of the typical worker families of the country.
This time, Ms. Pham Thi Ha is the only grassroots Trade Union President of Da Nang city to be honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on Vietnamese Family Day, June 28.
That is not only the joy of Ms. Ha's family alone, but also a common recognition for trade union officials who are silently contributing every day, both completing their professional work well, and taking care of union members' lives and preserving the values of Vietnamese families.
