The grassroots trade union of Vietnam Samho Co., Ltd. (100% Korean capital, specializing in producing New Balance brand leather shoes for export, located in Binh My commune, Ho Chi Minh City) was established in 1996, currently has 8,350 trade union members out of a total of 8,500 workers (NLĐ).
Mr. Nguyen Thanh An - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Vietnam Samho Co., Ltd. - said that most employees at the enterprise are direct workers. Therefore, the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade union always identifies studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style as a central and consistent task, associated with the task of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of employees and in accordance with the qualifications and working conditions of workers.
In the trade union activity area, there is a Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space built with 200 books written about Uncle Ho's life and revolutionary career and more than 1,000 other books. The space is a place for union members and workers to visit, research, and learn from Uncle Ho's example through image materials and books written about Uncle Ho every day.
To study and follow Uncle Ho's words, every year the grassroots trade union coordinates with businesses to organize at least 6 widespread propaganda sessions for about 4,000 workers to participate with content on occupational safety and health, labor law, and labor regulations. The result is to reduce the rate of workers violating labor laws and company regulations.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh An, also through reading books, newspapers, and documents written about Uncle Ho, the company realizes that Uncle Ho pays great attention to initiatives and technical improvements to improve labor productivity. From Uncle Ho's ideology, the Trade Union of Vietnam Samho Co., Ltd. regularly launches emulation movements for good labor, creative labor, and encourages employees to promote initiatives and technical improvements to increase labor productivity and bring efficiency to the business.
As a result, each month there are about 10 improvement projects and 200 innovative ideas from employees recognized and rewarded by businesses. Among them, there are many improvement projects to increase productivity, quality, reduce damaged goods, helping businesses save tens of millions of VND, the working environment at the company is improved, and the rate of occupational accidents has decreased significantly compared to before.
