Excited to join the trade union
Recently, the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Zones Trade Union held an admission ceremony for 30 union members and established a grassroots trade union (CDCS) of Xuan Son Processing Factory - Branch of Xuan Son Food Import Export Company Limited. This is a turning point for union members of the company to have their rights and welfare regimes better protected.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Giau - Chairwoman of the Xuan Son Processing Factory Trade Union - confided: "My collective of union members of the company are very excited to join the Trade Union. The grassroots trade union will develop working regulations, plans, and work programs; organize propaganda activities well, deploy emulation movements; coordinate with business owners to organize activities to care for and support workers in difficult circumstances, creating a safe and friendly working environment in the enterprise".
In 2024, the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Industrial Zones Trade Union will develop over 15,700 union members, reaching 189% of the target; establish 5 grassroots unions, reaching 100% of the target. In the first quarter of 2025, the Dung Quat Economic Zone and Industrial Zones Trade Union will develop nearly 1,400 union members, establish 2 grassroots unions, bringing the total number of grassroots unions to 83 units, with 55,600 union members.
Ms. Tran Thi Hong Vy - a worker at PNS CHUN Company Limited (VSIP Quang Ngai Industrial Park) - shared: "Having participated in the union at my old company, I clearly understand the practical rights that union members enjoy. When working here, I continue to join the union to be protected, cared for and will make more efforts in my work, contributing to the development of the company.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Pham Thai Duong, Chairman of the Trade Union of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Quang Ngai province, said that currently, many businesses choosing Quang Ngai for investment and business have positively impacted the economic and social development of the province, attracting large labor resources to work.
This is an opportunity, but also a challenge, requiring trade unions at all levels in the province in general, the Dung Quat Economic Zone Trade Union and the provincial Industrial Parks in particular, union members and workers to continue to strive and unite to perform well the assigned tasks, contributing to building an increasingly strong trade union organization.
Continue to develop union members, care for workers' lives
In 2024, Quang Ngai Labor Federation was one of 31 units awarded the Certificate of Merit by the VGCL and heads of provinces and cities on the target of developing union members. Promoting the achieved results, in 2025, the provincial Labor Federation set out 10 key tasks, which focus on representing and protecting the rights of workers and promoting the development of union members and establishing grassroots trade unions at non -state enterprises.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Lan - Chairman of Quang Ngai Labor Federation, as of the first quarter of 2025, the whole province admitted an additional 2,786 union members. The provincial Labor Confederation currently directly manages 16 direct superior trade unions, 8 grassroots colleges with 106,226 members/115,355 workers, officials, workers, living at 1,224 grassroots trade unions. In particular, focus on organizing activities on the occasion of Workers' Month 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese workers pioneering in entering a new era" associated with the National Action Month on occupational safety and hygiene - fire prevention and fighting in 2025; in which union members, good workers, and business owners are commended for competing to follow Uncle Ho's words; dialogue, meetings, gratitude to workers; health check-ups, free medicine consultation for workers... and many other cultural and sports activities, contributing to creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere among union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers.
